Hey, the season kicks off Friday evening with the previous 2 champions facing off, Montpellier vs. PSG. No word on whether Cavani will be in the PSG squad, but Marquinhos definitely will not be. PSG also denied the reports that Marquinhos has hepatitis, so who knows what the real story is with that situation. E: no Cavani to start trem_two fucked around with this message at 19:29 on Aug 9, 2013 |

Wow, fantastic goal by Cabella to put Montpellier up early, after he had started the counter attack by taking the ball off of Ibra.

A Big Mac for Gignac, just 2 minutes into the season. I forgot OM signed Payet, even though I'm pretty sure I posted about his transfer in the silly season thread. lol, and now Payet puts them up 2-0 in the 4th minute.

Monaco and Toulouse just kicked off, they're playing behind closed doors because of a pitch invasion by Monaco's supporters after they won promotion, so it's a very weird vibe. E: that was dull trem_two fucked around with this message at 22:08 on Aug 23, 2013 |

Leonardo's lengthy ban for pushing a referee after one of PSG's matches late in the year last season was overturned on appeal today. The argument was basically "he no longer works for a French club, how can he still be banned?". It's expected that he'll join Inter as their director of football, most other countries' national associations were honoring the ban, Italy included. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24536528

Charlotte Hornets posted:Again a win for Lille and a clean sheet against Marseille to make it 13 clean sheets in a row for Enyeama. He's about one and a half games away from beating the League 1 record for consecutive clean sheets. He managed to surpass PSG's Sirigu with yesterday's win. Enyeama finally conceded today, he didn't end up breaking the record.

Yeah it all boils down to Raiola getting his agent fees, so as long as Juve keeps renegotiating contract extensions Pogba should stick around for at least a couple more years.

Quantumfate posted:I'll just weigh in with my terrible American opinions and say that yeah, the Ligue has been pretty boring, even the last few OM games have been a little stale. The PSG v. Monaco game on Sunday should be something, but I'm mostly in this for OM, anything other matches tomorrow worth checking out? Yeah, every single match I've caught this year (mostly Friday games) has been deathly dull. PSG and Monaco are locked into first and second place, not much excitement to be had other than the last CL club, either Lille or OM could take it, that might be the most interesting story until the end of this season. So yeah, watch PSG and Monaco if you can, it'll be one of the more meaningful matches going forward, but even at that PSG should stomp Monaco.

The late match today is of significance for the CL/EL spots, Saint Etienne vs. Marseille. Saint Etienne can pull within a point of Lille for the last CL spot with a win, Marseille would jump Lyon and Saint Etienne into 4th place, the only EL spot awarded for league position.
