dis astranagant posted:They're somewhat less so if you're not a turtle, since their whole gimmick is AC ignoring and axe skills. And 3/4 of the animal kingdom has axe skills. They do remain incredibly lethal in melee regardless, though, since they hit pretty hard and can dismember. Enemies like that are the reason you always, always carry a good gun and a decent amount of ammo (or some strong ranged Esper powers that aren't Sunder Mind).

Did they update the play-by-web client? Anyway, I can relate to the difficulty eventually getting you down. I'm sitting at all hard or vicious dungeons, and the solutions to those are really intricate and I don't seem to find the right ones. Tier 2 and up class challenges are kinda the same, but also add RNG in the sense that some require you to grind for the perfect run or get hosed. Thief challenge 2 is pure bullshit ![]()

This new Convoy game is really hard. It's FTL set in a Mad Max style world. Even on "Easy" it's incredibly punishing, but not really in a good way. I hope they patch it to make victories more rewarding because right now it's incredibly easy to lose your two escort vehicles in the first few encounters (which essentially means the game is over). And if you do succeed, you barely get enough currency to repair the vehicles. Oh and you are constantly spending fuel so you have to drive back to the camp to do the repairs, so in the end you're worse off. I think it has great potential but drat is it difficult. In one game I lasted longer than 20 minutes because I lucked out and found a weapon in an event that let my main convoy vehicle inflict damage instead of just shooting a stun bolt every 12 seconds.

Armoured Commander has been updated again. I'll stop mentioning every little update but this one has some good ones. Namely weather is now implemented. Now you can get your tank bogged in the mud or snow, which also dampen the lethality of HE rounds against infantry. Plus Fog, which reduces spotting and firing ranges to close range only. ![]() In addition enemy tanks/SPGs now have to spend a turn face your tank if they want to shoot you but are at a side/rear facing and crew orders no longer reset each round.

I'm actually toying with the idea of doing a simple LP of it. But I'm currently waiting to see what else he adds in the next couple weeks. At the least I'm waiting until crew nicknames are in so I can theoretically kill a few dozen goons in tank fires and explosions. ![]()

So Ive been messing around in Caves of Qud and just finished up with Golgatha. Is there anywhere you can reliably find warm clothes? I dont really want to freeze to death in Bethesda Susa, and Ive never really gotten this far before. Is there anything else besides staying warm that I should be aware of or to watch out for? Playing a max ego esper for reference.

There's a few tiles of magma in Bethesda Susa, so you can always just put some in a canteen and pour it on yourself when you're cold ![]() I don't remember taking any special precautions with my esper when I went to Bethesda Susa and I mostly did okay, but ISTR there are enemies there that make you colder with their attacks, and if you get cold enough you just outright freeze solid and can't do anything until you warm up again. Bring some blaze injectors for safety's sake, and be aware that being cold slows you down even if you aren't frozen.

That's 35 cold res if you get the full hat/gloves/cloak. Otherwise you're hoping for Elastyne or Plastifer gear in Grit Gate. There's plenty of things in Bethesda Susa that will freeze you solid even with full cold resistance. dis astranagant fucked around with this message at 18:05 on Apr 22, 2015 |

What happens, as far as I can tell, is that the chutes spawn infinite crabs that all fall down the shafts at the end of the belt, and then when you jump down the shaft there are infinite crabs on the same tile as you and they hit you infinite times.

madjackmcmad posted:That sucks. I'm sorry! Is the mouse being slow and janky or something? Not really slow, just when I try to select stuff with the keys the cursor can interfere if its over an option. The creation screens are a bit slow but that's probably just my computer - I wouldn't mind a resolution option, though. Aside from that the game's fun as hell.

It's not going to happen any time soon. The KS didn't make the budget for it, and I need to work on things that will keep the lights on here at Adventurepro, and dmans to OSX isn't one of those things at all. So it's a side project, but it is also the least fun side project I have, which means it is on the backest of burners. I feel like I'd be pretty proud to see dmans running on OSX and even Linux, but when I think about what I want to code in my spare time, the other side projects come first.

I want to delve into radioactive city ruins, find the nuclear power plant that's the source of the rads, fight my way through an insane cult (preferably composed of sentient badgers with far too many limbs) that's trying to assemble an atomic bomb, kill their leader in a small circular arena that turns out to be the top of a gigantic bullet, then they set the bomb off which fires the bullet up into space. It's a pretty good way to get vital data permanently out of reach of the horrible things happening on (I hope someone else here has read Hannu Rajaniemi.)

palecur posted:Can someone explain what the damage expression (arrow) 8 (heart) 1d2 [9] means? The in-game help covers this. IIRC "->8" means the attack can pierce 8 levels of armor, the darkness of the heart gives a rough visual indicator of how much health the target has left (green = lots, dark red = nearly dead), 1d2 is the base damage dice, and I don't remember what the [9] means. Maybe it's a combat roll.
