A good poster posted:Salty should kick that up to at least 5%. The crazy bullshit fights are part of the fun. Yeah, those characters were incredibly boring on normal match or Salty Shakers because was always a stomp, with bullshit characters facing off the chances of magic happening is very high.

I was going to quit due to the string of bad design decisions by Salty lately, but I have to see how this sudden influx of people reacts to the madness.The Kins posted:New update: For some unfathomable reason X tier is not included in automatic re-tiering. Grapplermania was incredible- I bet 70,000 bucks on the final match, believing in Hollywood Hogan over the anime swimsuit girl in a big blob, and busted back to the mines. No regrets.

When there were actual themed tourneys or ones made with some thought put into it, it was a fun weekly thing to get in on, but with everything being automated now it's just weird random stuff- which is cool for the stream most of the time, but without that weekly event to get everyone together and excited about some cool matches it's just kind of pointless to have tournaments at all.

I'm cool with the new tournament system, really. That plus the exhibitions clears out the queue a lot faster, too. I hope they're at least all in the same tier, otherwise it just gets dumb. I still think Salty should at least do one pre-constructed Shaker Classic a week, though.

I recently got back into this, and used Fluid to create a "native" OS X app out of Salty Bet: It's pretty basic, there's a panel with SaltyBet's mobile UI and another panel pointed at the Twitch stream, which lets me watch it without having Flash installed (I also like having it be a separate window). Now, I have no knowledge of making userscripts, but I managed to hack at the "Important Bits" script a little in an attempt to make the betting UI nicer, but there's obviously great potential for making it look real nice if I only knew how to do it. Does anyone want to try improving on the mobile UI? Premade scripts are also welcome if there's something that's not on userscripts.org

I still throw on Saltybet fairly often to have background noise while I work, but man every time I look up lately it's a Saltybet Twitch Chat-themed character. They're worse than the anime beamspam characters, just like, poorly made one-shot kill machines every single drat time.

The problem with the joke characters created specifically for SaltyBet is that none of their creators want them to be beatable. It's a dumb pride thing. Instead of a gag character who can put up a fair fight in a funny way, they're all trying to make The Most Powerful Character (Meme Edition). So the match is either a stomp, or it's an annoying stalemate that runs through the full timer every round because neither fighter can be damaged.

I honestly don't understand anyone who has a single positive feeling in their body for Twitch Waifu. The only time I got any enjoyment out of it was watching the creator guy cry in chat after getting beat by a regular god and demand a rematch after he re-uploaded a new version. That thing is like an effort elemental, it exists as nothing but and for nothing but. LOVE ME GUYS LOOOOOOOVE MEEEEEEEEE. Edit: Duane can stay though

Heck, I remember someone programming their X tier bullshit character to check the author data and have the character ditch its hit box or otherwise become unbeatable if the author of the enemy character is by a specific "bad character author" Am I the only one who wants to make a character and see how the dice land, so to speak? No clue as to what I'd make, though.
