Terrapin is so great, man it's one of my favorites.

Does anyone have a version they would recommend? I really like Terrapin on Dick's Picks 29, but admittedly I don't listen to sets from that era often

Just wanted to circle back and state that headyversion is a great site I didn't know about and that I've been listening to the first Terrapin show a lot since you posted the link.

Excellent version of that song:

The rest of the set is great, these also hit that night:

Cool seeing someone from the rap thread here. I've been jamming New Mexico 1977-10-07 lately.

Roundabout answer: get Deadhead Archives app. It's super slick and not clunky like the website.

My favorite Here Comes Sunshine is from later that year, 12/19/73, which was featured on Dick's Picks 1. Another great one is San Diego 11/14. '73 was great for that song.

Anyone going to Dead and Co or other GD-related shows this summer? I was able to snag tickets for both nights in Boulder.

I'm really excited to see JRAD Saturday, despite what looks like snow at this point.

If it counts, there's a band here that does butt rock and dead covers.

And a CB4 cover last time I saw them, oddly enough.

Garcia Band is sort of mixed for me, in the sense that there is great stuff but a lot of the song selection is stuff I just don't care for.

For the question of where to start, I would say pick any of the Garcia Live official releases. The most recent (Volume 10 Hilo HI 1990) is a pretty great example of what I'm describing:

I could absolutely do without How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You, Knockin on Heaven's Door, etc but there are absolutely smokin versions of Deal, They Love Each Other, Evangeline...

Since you mention it the jam into Fire at that second Boulder show was fantastic. Great show overall.

Brent songs are amongst the very worst of all Grateful Dead songs. Even worse than Vince songs (which were actually pretty good).

Wait, what?

I get that Brent isn't for everyone and I dont gravitate past 78 often myself but what Vince songs are you into?

I'll admit to being less than thrilled when the Dark Star bassline starts up during a show. I'll take an exploratory the Other One over Dark Star any day of the week.

Fixed that for you. But to the question I still favor the Live/Dead DS.

I can't remember who said it but they did talk about how trying to give him an ultimatum wouldn't work because he would go and do shows with the Garcia band instead.

That would be the dad/cop/bassist of the band.
