If not for TMobile’s deal with MLB I don’t know how much baseball I’d watch; the Nationals blackout bubble used to extend all the way to Raleigh, but good luck getting the RSN all the way down there. So so dumb.

MLS still hasn't broken viewership levels it set when Freddy Adu was debuting. Liga MX routinely beats out EPL and MLS. NWSL might end up hitting MLS numbers soon with a whole lot less investment. I like going to MLS games, but calling it a ponzi is correct. It's not catching on, no matter how many big names they entice over from Europe.

And soccer as well: a FA Cup final or Championship Promotion final is gonna be more attractive to me than most EPL games.

half the reason I'm into F1 these days is because it's the easiest league to follow at any time. get F1TV and you're set for the entire championship, replay or live. meanwhile EPL is starting to splinter, MLB is everywhere and nowhere, even NFL is all over the place (except oddly enough, the Yahoo Fantasy app has every game)

Some teams on MLS Live a few years ago didn’t enforce blackout, only when there was a national game on ESPN was it not available. Very glad the new incarnation under Apple will have every game available, but definitely not the norm with streaming.

Can’t recall if this was in this thread or the Sports Journalism thread, but anyway: So when Timothy Burke was subject to a FBI raid, he stopped posting on Twitter at the same time. Turns out just a few days later he moved solely over to Blue Sky. twitter dot com slash ESPNFC felt like the genesis of this issue. Ronaldo is only getting tweeted about every 3 days now, but he used to feature daily, even when he wasn’t doing anything interesting. In general it’s pretty nauseating, you can only do so many flame emojis and all caps posts in the same day
