I didn’t realize we were waiting for a renewal still, was hoping they’d already have episodes in the can rather than being at the writing stage. Will be a long time before new gang escapades then I expect.

This show would still work no matter how old the gang gets. Of course I imagine Danny doesn't have that long left and they'll probably stop the show once he croaks or gets too old to keep doing it. Dude is 75 already

Yeah, Last of the Summer Wine was a British TV institution for literally decades. It was one of those things that you couldn't imagine NOT seeing on TV, like Bruce Forsyth and Top of the Pops. Then Brucie died, all of the Summer Wine gang died (presumably, because they were already super old, that was the gimmick), and everyone on Top of the Pops turned out to be a pedo.
