 I think Patty is supposed to be a reference to Chat from Tales of Eternia who was basically looking for Aifred's hidden treasure, i think he's her ancestor or something. Chat was useless in battle though from what i remember she was one of those characters that felt shoehorned in more than anything so they something in common.
