I was happy about this for about a second before I realized they'll probably get Schiavello to replace him.

Here's the thing, Schiavello is just weird and excitable. If you hung out with him, he'd probably make whatever you were doing more exciting with his enthusiasm. Mauro is a creepy perv and I'd be constantly worried he'd grope my wife and then stab someone with a spoon when called on it.

Wasn't he complaining a while back about needing more money from the UFC because he had to make payments on two houses in CA?

Fighters just can't stop bitching about taxes.

He has a pretty unique talent for taking what would be a sympathetic situation for most folks (walking in on your SO with another person) and transforming it into a bad episode of SVU. Also, he would have gotten away with it if he had just beaten the hell out of the dude, but a War Machine only know one way to express his undying love to the woman who cuckolds him.

Actually that is kind of a weird thought, apart from Randy/Ryan, are there any father/son MMA dynasties? Like you have a bunch of brothers and it's fairly common in wrasslin' for legacies to wrassle but I can't really think of any others in MMA

Is it a dynasty when the son is not good and the father has completely tarnished his accomplishments with his behavior afterward?

As shallow as HW is, it's kind of amazing he hasn't been brought back to get KOd by a couple of prospects they want to build. Why do dorky people always insist on haircuts where every single strand of hair is cropped off at the exact same point relative to the bottom of their head? A proper haircut and new glasses would 200% undorkify that picture.

I kinda like that cage. It's a lot harder to disguise rope-grabbing as unintentional, but the small fence at the bottom eliminates the problem of falling through the ropes while grappling.

It would also change the wrestling game a bit as pressing into the fence isn't really a viable strategy for vying for a takedown.

Falling through the ropes/your opponent can try to turn and shuck you through the ropes. I guess you'd still be able to drive a guy into the ropes while shooting, but I don't see the Couture-esque "lean into the fence for 5 minutes while throwing punches" thing working that well with ropes.

I am totally prepared for someone to link 25 Pride fights where that strategy absolutely did work, however. It's been a while since I watched MMA in a ring.
