This season is a bit saccharine for me. I don't think it's always been this sentimental and cheesy.

Really? Nick is constantly questioning whether he's losing his true self (for better or worse) in his relationship with Jess. Winston's ex-girlfriend's cat that he stole is the currently the center of his universe. Schmidt is in the worst place he's been in the whole series, dealing with the repercussions of being an enormous dick to two women and his best friends, and simultaneously isolating himself by moving out but still attached with an umbilical tether to the loft because he can't move on from either Cece or his friends. Jess is finally getting back on her feet careerwise but finds herself having to babysit a manchild who's often too proud to accept help when he needs it.

Dammit I just marathoned 8 and a half seasons of Supernatural and all I can see is that Jess's boss is Metatron.

I think Coach actually helps define Winston a bit in how different they are. Anyway I actually like Damon Wayans Jr. here more than in Happy Endings, I had some problems with how cartoony it got in season 3. Still a fantastic show, just not my favorite season.

I still like it too, cliched and TV-showy as it was. gently caress the haters.

Yeah, they broadened the humour a bit for the audience they were expecting, but it was still genuinely an episode of New Girl. Fire+Ice slayed me, it's nice to see Coach and Winston being hilarious together as a team.

You know what's awesome? How product placement helps keep our favorite shows on the air. Cause I like New Girl. A lot.

Haven't heard anything new from that in a while. The premise sounds kind of awful though, and I wouldn't be upset if it didn't get picked up if he could be a regular in New Girl.

They were a lot better at writing the schmidt love triangle than any of the nick and jess stuff imo

What? The Schmidt triangle was hands down the worst part of this season. And I thought they were nailing the Nick/Jess stuff until the forced breakup. Every episode had them growing as people and recognizing how they were weirdly a good influence on each other, and then all of a sudden they just can't have a future together.

That was the finale? It didn't really feel like one. Still a fun episode and I hope they give it a rest with the will they/won't they for Nick and Jess for at least half a season and just keep things adorably awkward for a while.

Season 4 better be the goddamn year of Winston.

I don't know, I think Nick would be pretty good as an undead person.

OK I take it back, it would give him valuable life experience for his zombie novel
