Rudoku posted:And didn't the Justice League end around the time it came out? DC fans just love bitching. A lot of the bitching about Teen Titans died with Season 2 when they did an actual Teen Titan comic book story and it was baller. But yeah, basically Teen Titans came out just as JL and JLU finished. It was really different in tone so a lot of people found it pretty jarring. Of course it turns out it had actually learnt the important lessons from JL and JLU which was to have an overarching plot across the season to keep people hooked. Again, I think the stuff around GO is so vitriolic just because of how Teen Titans went down. Nobody ever really explained why it didn't get a Season 6 and it got replaced by The Batman which was basically an unmitigated disaster of a show. I really suspect that nobody would be upset about GO if the original Teen Titans had been resolved correctly.

Tonight's episode was so Scooby Doo. I wonder which came first, the Scooby Doo idea or them being told they were going to have LeBron as a guest star?

I really suspect that nobody would be upset about GO if the original Teen Titans had been resolved correctly. Here's how it went down: It got resolved in a big bombastic way with an orchestra version of the theme playing and everything, using the massive cast of characters assembled throughout the season and having a big conclusive finale since they knew the show getting yet another season was highly unlikely. During production they decided to give Beast Boy an episode at the end and have a story hook should there be another season, but the network didn't really want to invest yet again when the numbers were just right for syndication and continuing the story would mean way too many established characters, so a tv movie was ordered instead and Derrick J. Wyatt regrets how they handled Tokyo Trouble. Then we got the still pretty cool show that is The Batman.

Personally I wouldn't describe The Batman as "an unmitigated disaster." The seasons after Robin showed up were really enjoyable, and it was fun seeing their take on the Justice League.

Wasn't The Batman around the time where WB was being really weird about not having villains appear in multiple Batman works because people would get confused?

Yeah, by all reports The Batman caused issues for Justice League because all of a sudden they were no longer allowed to use the Joker or any Bat-villains.

The last DCAU appearance of Joker was in the fantastic Teen Titans pseudo-crossover, where the TT voice actors played rough-sketch alternate versions of the Titans in a criminal gang.

I'm loving all these "blatant death"-scenes, and Cyborg killing the flower was no exception.

A funny thing about the hearts in the background of the classroom scene was that there were duplicates of people. Like there was Bruce+Selena as well as Bruce+Talia or Clark+Lois and Kal+Diana.

Not to mention Nite Owl and Laurie. I never quite get sick of the blatant Watchman references in this show. Same with the B v S one.

I'm surprised Robin, BB, and Cyborg going yaoi weren't more appreciative of the Tingle-inspired Easter Bunny.

Robin licking his lips in love with Cyborg was amazingly creepy. Who was doing Santa's voice? There weren't any credits at the end of my DVR'd episode since they aired a whole block. It sounded a little like Bob Newhart.

When Robin mentioned Santa and Mrs. Claus were having marital problems and it cut away to her busting in on him on the computer with him looking ashamed was the joke that he was looking at porn? I'm not sure if I want to be right about someone watching porn in a kid's show.

This entire episode about Robin explaining buying rental property was hilarious. The only way it could be funnier is if it was about filling out a Schedule C.
