Apart from EoTM pretty much every update has been minor compared to pve. I'd like to see some more goddamn game modes in spvp, we know they're working on a few non conquest maps but they take so long to do anything when it comes to pvp.weinus posted:People actively avoid fighting. Okay I'll be honest my opinion is biased since I am one of the 'hardcore' GvG types you guys despise...plz don't hate me. I just like killing mens with my bros. I don't care about PvErs and so-called casuals filling borderlands, rallying enemies, whatever...I'm happy there are new people trying the game mode out. My main issue with WvW seasons is that they encourage bandwagoning and lead to guilds and servers dying. Look at HOD... they were kings of silver league and are now sliding down to T5, who knows where they'll stop? It was very hard for guilds to recruit during seasons due to the increased transfer costs and the 2-matchup lockout they implemented. Some guilds got stuck in a league they didn't want to be in and had 9 weeks of nothing formidable to fight. It's getting harder and harder for our guild to get 20+ players on, 9 months ago we had some days we would almost reach 40. There's less and less guild-groups to fight which leads to less interest from our guild. We have literally fought the same 4 or 5 guilds for the past 6 months. All the others have quit the game or dissolved into the aforementioned 4 or 5 guilds (and ours) My disappointment is just in that there's so much more potential to WvW (and sPvP) that ANet refuses to recognize. No other MMO comes close to GW2 in terms of combat, so it sucks to see people losing interest in the game since it's so stagnant in regards to WvW and sPvP. Either way, it's a no-sub game so hopefully they will add more to these in the future and get some of their player base back.

Server transferring is a difficult issue, your server drops as guilds transfer off while other servers pass you by or on the other side of the coin your server rockets up the ladder due to transfer on to it. I'm not sure how they can tackle the problem as it happens outside of seasons too. Maybe tying sides to something other than the server you're on. A new game mode for guild vs guild players is an obvious solution, who knows if they'd devote resources to such a small percentage of wvw players though. Making Obsidian Sanctum into an EOTM-esque overflow system would go a long way. As it stands now the tiers are pretty stagnant (at least t1 and t2 where most of the active guilds are these days). Making it like EOTM would open up a lot more possible GvGs and it's a pretty simple solution I think. I just think it's a shame ANet didn't recognize the potential for GvGs. The fact that guilds took it upon themselves to organize and practically invent the game mode should have triggered something with the devs. I mean, there's been GvGs with nearly 2,000 viewers on twitch (not much for most games but considering GW2 usually hovers around 200 viewers total it's pretty significant) It may be a small community at this point but it's a fraction of what it once was and a fraction of what it could have been with a little more support from ANet. Anyway, I'm done whining about it and will continue spamming 1 and collecting loots until there's nobody left to fight.

I always assume if WvW is dead at any given moment, it's from a lack of me. Also if you are doing WvW and not following Xushin or a goon commander around, you are doing it wrong. If you do not bring an endless mystery tonic along to turn into trees to disguise yourself from stupid zergs, you're doing it wrong. If you aren't being yelled at by tryhards and threatened with reports to ANet for not playing exactly how they want you to play and somehow being the sole reason Maguuma is not in the lead, you are doing it wrooooooooooong.

Wildstar is a WoW-like with a few modern tweaks, it's not particularly like GW2 at all.
