Maxwell Lord posted:The Cosmos is literally everything in existence so the next episode will be about a turkey farm. If NDT is narrating I'll watch an episode where he puts his coffee table together and just reads the instructions.

The first episode felt a bit disjointed to me but it's setting the stage for 12 more hours so I'll see where it goes before I judge that. I enjoyed the messages that came from the segments. Like Bruno, it's ok to question the prevailing wisdom of the day. But Tyson did point out that while Bruno was ultimately correct he didn't have the science available to experiment and prove his hypothesis. Next we quickly got our bearings in our local area of space and then went way beyond. The calendar showed just how insignificant humanity is in our universe. There's a lot of unexplored space out there. Finally the story of Carl Sagan taking such a personal interest in a student should be a major example of what we should expect from our teachers. I loved science as a child and maybe I would have had a totally different career path if a teacher had given me that extra nudge.

Lets not forget that science is a liar sometimes, courtesy of our friends at It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Also, Isaac Newton is a bitch. I was hoping for more sciencey stuff last night but I dig the message and the vibe of the show. I also loved the fish book story.
