WAR/WAR/SCH(or any other healer, or hell a BRD could probably do it too), with copious usage of flee boots/speed hacks, and fell cleaving entire floors at a time should be fine as long as you don't get totally boned by floor jumps (note: getting totally boned by floor jumps happens a lot). The last time I did NNI seriously was pre-ilvl gear, and with 6, speed hacking all over the place, we had about a 90% win rate. Sometimes you just get ten 3 floor jumps in a row, and you can't do anything about that.

Sometime possibly this weekend, I plan to run a lot of Kindergarten Cap (30 Kindred Crest bc) to try and get WoE stuff. If you don't mind me taking pouches, I'll solo your orb in a few minutes tops and the rest of the drops are all yours! This is a great way to complete AF3 as you're almost guaranteed to get a mog kupon that you can trade for 8/10 af3 seals you want and the boss will drop a random assortment of AF3+2 items. Ive been thinking about coming back a d I was wondering if yhe gik sellers still ran fell cleave parties out in abyssea for money, and if so hiw do you get into gehm since when last left the shouters in jeuno had been banned. I mostly want to level up so I can solo through old content that I never completed before and maybe get some a relic weapon and armor or something.

On my server, you see very few people doing fell cleaves at all (presumably for fear of being banned). I'd suggest finding a friend, or trying to leech from a worm (or the like) abyssea party. They're in vogue right now, sort of, because you need merits to do the new arch angel fights.

You're fine to do fell cleaves and charge people to leech as long as you aren't an RMT.  Problem is people don't really seem interested in buying leech spots any longer, which is why they don't happen.

Leveling is pretty quick now thanks to the Trust NPCS and Records of Eminence and Grounds of Valor. I did RDM 1-49 in about 5 hours solo and only kind of paying attention.

I was also able to get 4 merits doing Records of Eminence quests, while I maxed out evasion and dagger on my thf. I was just killing the mandies outside Western Adoulin, in Ceizak Battleground. Maybe if you add in lair/colonization reives plus the coalition quest to the mix, you can get 20 merits easily. The 20 merit toll per person per AA/DM 2.0 fights is a bit annoying.

Some of the AF3+2 is still best in slot for certain things (e.g. WHM legs (healing all the time) and body (single target healing), or all of BRD's for various songs, etc.).

There's word that there's going to be revamps for AF3 like how AF1 got the i119 treatment, so odds are that AF3+2 will require the least amount of new materials.

Are the servers still bone-dry? Last I logged on there weren't even 600 people on at NA prime. Today is my 10-year anniversary of finally finishing POL updates and logging on for the first time. I got this game in Christmas of 2003, and I had dial-up, so the update literally took two days

I'd say that 90% of the people playing this game right now are the old guard, who have been around forever, and will continue to play till the game is dead regardless of how badly they gently caress up the game (although the current trend for the game isn't that bad I think).

I gotta say right now isn't even the worst place the game has been in: sure SE totally bungled the introduction of ilvl gear by releasing delve too earlier (and still not giving us new delve content months later) (although they are finally fleshing out ilvl gear, so now you have some alternatives, e.g. delve gear, or skirmish, or reforged AF), but its still better than the hellscape that was post-WoTG, pre-abyssea. Enjoy your WoE and MMM as your sole new content while we trickle out a few missions every few months.

I really feel like logging in again after 8 years but wonder how easily I can reactive my old account. Since the last time I played was 2005/2006 I don't really remember much. I remember the server I was on, character name, but that is about it. I did not pay for the account back then, my Mom did. Would it be enough to just know the server, character name, and name of the person who paid? By the sound of it, it does not even seem like having my cat girl would matter much. But I remember at the time being so proud being level 75 and having my Enhancing sword from the dragon named Bane? I think. I really just feel like running through the old zones and maybe leveling up some. This game was horrible in so many ways but I still remember the good times I had with friends. Also, the music was great! For whatever reason every holiday when I go back home I always think of this game and the holiday version of the Jueno theme. I played this game way to much my last two years of high school and remember being one of the first 75s NA red mages on the server. I quit I think after Chains of Promitha came out because I think WoW just came out around then and so many people went over to that game. I never did get into WoW and stopped playing all together once I started college. I still have not played another MMO since this one.

If you remember the account information (user name/password), or you know the email that is attached to the account to reset the password, it shouldn't take too long to get the account back. If you need to contact SE about it... it'll take a while in general (a week or two most likely). Also note you need to contact them to change any personal information on the account (e.g. changing the account's name from your mom's to yours).

Dumb question but I have not bought a MMO on steam before. Are there any problems buying this one on steam? How does that then work with playonline? Or is it recommended to buy this anywhere else? Looks like the only way to buy it now is digitally. Would it be better to just buy the digital version on amazon?

Amazon or Steam are both fine. I have the steam version and have had no issues. You will still use PlayOnline to play the game, and it doesn't have the Steam overlays. Just grab it on whichever is cheaper.

I am totally bummed out. Called tech support and learned that my account was deleted because it had been inactive for so long. I had not played since 2005. I am still thinking about starting all over again but I mostly wanted to just spend time revisiting old zones and goofing off. How long does it take to get to ride the airship and go to Kazham, get to Jueno, things like that now? Could I do it all in a afternoon or two?

You can unlock most areas by running to them once and touching a home crystal. You can now warp to any home point you've previously visited by touching any other home point crystal. It's not outside of reason to get someone to escort you around a few places so you can teleport within a few hours. Khazam requires item collection so it may be marginally more difficult, but still doable.

I guess I will go ahead and ask here and see if anyone else has had a similar experience. Today I called up support to try to activate my old account. I did not know my playonline account info but I still had the original instruction booklet with the playonline access code. After being on the phone with them for a while they told me my Play Online Account had been deleted on their side so there was no way to access any information at all. I ended up buying the game again today and setting up a Square Enix account then put in a request to get my character brought back. Has anyone had any experience with getting an account back or character at least with a situation like this? I have looked online and have not seen this happen to anyone else.
