It seems to be a lock for Soul at least Question: The award is called Music (Original Score) on the Oscar website. Atticus and Trent are listed in the film as having composed it. Why is Jon Bapiste nominated? His contributions are essential and likely the reason they'll win but given how anal the Academy can be with score (Godfather anyone?), he doesn't technically fit. If anything, he should've been counted as a co-composer of the score.

That ixi channel made me listen to Hesitation Marks all the way through for the first time in a while. Hesitation Marks is so loving good. It also made me remember seeing them on the Tension tour and how incredible While I'm Still Here/Black Noise was live with the backup singers on vocals. I've watched almost every single video on there and it's sparked creativity in me. It's had me playing piano more and experimenting with it.
