just make another ghosts album already everyone grew out of the lovely lyrics but the music is still good JUST loving DO IT ALREADY
His lyrics can be all over the place but I really like Reznor's singing voice for whatever reason.

Finally got to sit down and listen to the album all the way through. I liked it. reminded me of bits of pieces of The Downward Spiral and The Fragile but definitely its own thing.
Wouldn't be disappointed if the new album sounds like this, though it could just be that Reznor only has the one EP's worth of this sound still in him.
I can't sing along if I can't hear what you're saying T-Rez
btw did anyone actually get these in MP3 format? The FLACs are basically devoid of metadata so I was wondering if anything interesting was tucked away in there.

You know, listening to it again I definitely hear plenty of the HM style (particularly in Dear World). Then there She's Gone Away which almost sounds like a cut Fragile piece. The Idea of You feels like an amalgamation of HM, WT, Fragile, and YZ in places. Burning Bright has a distinct guitar riff straight lifted from The Day The World Went Away at 3:37.
It actually makes me wonder (if any smarter NIN aficionado than I could check) if any or a lot of the instrumental of this EP is taken from samples of old NIN material. Making a song or an album of samples of your own work would be a pretty interesting experiment for a musician of Trent's longevity to undertake.
Anyway I still like it.

[*]At 3000x3000 pixels, the included album art is too large to work on iPhones. I reduced mine to 1000x1000 and re-added in iTunes, after which it appeared to work fine.

I liked this new track a lot more than the first one. I remember the last EP had a few callbacks to earlier NIN music, I wonder if this one will too, or if every EP will reference specific eras in Trent's music. Can't wait for the full EP to drop.

I like the looping end. It was awkward and annoying at first, but as the music disintegrated it became this sort of overwhelming white noise.

Most of NIN's stuff from the past decade+ made me feels "meh" during the first listening, but grows on me the more I listen to it. GBDTD is pretty much the same.
Though I also seem to generally prefer other songs on the album over the singles Trent releases anyway.
