I think they are maybe somehow turning them into the sexbots.

Edit: I find it weird the guy making the sexbots calls them sexbots...it seems like it'd be one of those industries where they look down on the term everyone calls them...like fast food.

Why would you need to kidnap someone to get DNA? I would assume that you could just replicate any DNA for skin regardless of who it's from. Just pay someone for a sample and then give all your robots the same DNA based skin.

Looks like it's to make more realistic skin and pheromones so the robots are sexier. And I guess it necessarily involves killing people to get their DNA...??

This is about what I expected. You'd think that a show set in the future with androids would at least do something interesting with the premise. Actually, I wouldn't think that because J.J. Abram's name is attached to the project.

drat this show for stealing Karl Urban's jawline away from Dredd 2.

Essentially it's an episode of CSI with a sci-fi gloss. I'd actually rather watch CSI (note: I will never watch CSI willingly) because their ridiculous misunderstanding of science is unintentionally funny. Using technology as part of a storyline doesn't make something compelling to watch. Who gives a gently caress about a standard police procedural plot, even if it's set in generic future land?

Not that the police have much need for sex bots, but why do they need to destroy the robots instead of just replacing their skin with synthetic skin?
