I have actual skeletons in my closet
I think the maw game is subject to the "max spawns" issue where you won't get fish initially then it populates. I did most of that solo so I rarely saw the issue.

Yeah I was going to give it a try solo next time.

For others, there's two completion points. Done, and bonus done. Another player entering with you will have two maws swimming around on the same completion bar.

I did it with just 2 players and we maxed the bar 90% of the time. I mostly got 3 maws boosted to 6, that was plenty to finish my Hate Incarnon anyways.

yeah, winning just gives you a chance to get more drops. I think it increases the chance to get maw fangs, and I've seen as many as 3 fangs from maxing out the bar, as opposed to 1-2 for only getting 6 fish. Of course sometimes you will max out the bar and only get 0-1 fangs. You'll get millions of scales too but I don't even know what uses those. I've also seen up to 8 pebbles for maxing out the bar.

The first time you fish in a given session you'll also get a decree, and if you max the bar it upgrades it to a rare decree.

You can, that is basically their intended purpose. You'll often find lure share groups where you rotate who pops one on a mission. only use one per mission though.

I built another Ocucor in preparation for the new mod from Nora (which effectively gives it infinite magazine and a bunch of crit and status chance), and I found out that I have a riven for it, as well. So it kinda slaps now, but... waiting on that nightwave reset.

Maxing the fish bar can also cause a rare drop of an actual live fish that will somehow stay alive long enough for your drifter to shove it in the orbiter's fish tanks.

I play solo for a few reasons -

1) I never know when I might have to drop everything with no notice and just walk away, as I am full-time caretaker for my mother.
2) I am a fairly slow-paced player who has OCD about opening every box and exploring every little side passage. I can't do that in groups really. Eventually when I've been in a game long enough I at least slow down on doing this, but that "ooo... what's behind THAT door" brain-worm never really goes away.
3) The extremely fast pace of co-op group play in this type of game just... isn't fun for me. I don't know why but I just kinda get input overload and don't have fun, assuming I can even keep up and get a chance to maybe kill something.

I relate to all of this and spent much of my time in Warframe doing solo farming or syndicate missions, favoring Capture and Exterminate, and methodically eliminating every enemy on the map, then taking my time going back through to break every space pot. Something to play while listening to a podcast. This is by absolutely no means the most efficient way to acquire materials or farm affinity, but if it's what you like doing, it does work. (It had a few side benefits too, like I found I liked doing a lot of that grinding on Ceres, so I ended up with heaps of spare orokin cells, a crafting material a lot of people run at a deficit.)

There are some mission modes that are tricky to do solo (Interception) or only with a slow tanky frame (Defense) or both (open world bounties), and void fissures are always better to run in co-op because you get to choose any of your squadmates' relic rewards instead of your own, so it increases your odds of being able to pick a lucky find. But here I am a few years later, still running some Zariman and Steel Path missions solo so that I can pause the game and it will actually stand still and enemies won't run up and kill me while I'm paused, and I'm not inconveniencing anybody by moving through the map at a leisurely pace breaking pots instead of bullet jumping and void dashing to the next objective.

There's content I do in multiplayer, either pubbed or with friends, but I usually do a few missions and then wind down with some solo play. It works out fine for me. You don't have to rush everything down. You won't rank and accumulate stuff at the rate that you hypothetically could, but there's no point in optimizing progression if you don't enjoy playing the game the optimal way. Play it the way that's fun, whichever way that is.

My first Interception mission I had no clue what was going on, but figured it out and barely squeaked out a win. Haven't had another one yet.

Defense so far has never been a problem, just murder everything as fast as I can around the defense objective.

Open world bounty is the only mission I've actually failed, as the drone I'm escorting get's killed while I'm running around trying to kill all the dudes shooting at it.

I definitely like the Capture and Exterminate most though, just murder stuff. Spy missions are mostly okay once I figured out what I was supposed to be doing, but when they put those sensor bot things at the end that are impossible (for me) to one-shot and they instantly turn on the alarms and start deleting data it's kinda annoying.

yeah, you just have to sneak past the sensor bots. The spy missions are interesting, some of those data vaults have multiple paths into them.

For the record, i still sometimes lose T1 bounties because the drone has so little hp and takes so much damage from the flying jerks that are easy to miss and you need to 100% prioritize them with hitscan or they can nuke it in a few salvos. It actually gets less risky on higher tiers, and sometimes i run switch teleport loki just to speed up that specific escort stage.

For common tricky mission types for beginners there's spy (99% a tile knowledge check), interception (hard to solo, much easier with specters), hijack (rare, easier trivialized with specific frames like inaros/nidus or hildryn, easiest to ask for a quick node clear help), certain assassination missions with gimmicks.

Also most of the archwing nodes (especially pursuit), which id recommend skipping until you get a better archgun, although if you just want the node clear they're usually 1-3 min taxis at most.

I sat down to start New War yesterday and ended up banging through the whole quest. I really enjoyed it in general, the perspective switches were fun. I was definitely psyching myself out too much about the archon fights after hearing some people got stuck on them; they were not particularly challenging and I mostly enjoyed the fights against them relative to the typical warframe boss experience of "boss is immune for most of fight then instantly dies".

Tbh I thought the instafail sneaking mission was far more onerous than any of the actual fights in the quest.

Anyways it was a lot of content for a single quest and I'm really looking forward to the zariman and other new stuff I can go after now!

Ash Prime is farmable right now, which hasn't been the case for like, a few years, so get on that if you wanted him.

edit:

Also, experimenting with Hate Incarnon, I found a really fun build:

- Volt with as much Ability Strength as you can jam on him (his second ability Speed gives 75% attack speed, higher than Valkyr's 50%)

- Shocking Speed augment (works fine unranked) gives Speed an aura with guaranteed shock if you're not standing still. The slight movement while neutral attacking counts. The shocks CC everyone near you and trigger Archon Stretch energy regen

- You can hold Electric Shield while you melee, and the Spectral Scythes from Hate will gain the electric bonus if they hit enemies directly

- Subsume Breach Surge if you want 7x Stealth Multiplier on blinded enemies, in addition to spreading the AOE damage even farther

- Give Hate the most obnoxious energy colors you can come up with for like 10 explosions per second of pure visual puke

Killed my first Sister of Parvos, and man, I like this execution of the concept a lot better than the kuva liches. The differences are slight but it's just so much less of a hassle killing a few hounds than it is hordes and hordes of thralls, you get an extra reward on top of the tenet weapon, and the ephemeras are a lot more interesting.

Yea warframe is grindy af and kind of byzantine in a lot of ways but it has some of the best moment to moment gameplay out there imo. It has a kind of ridiculous amount of content at this point so if you get stuck in there's a lot to enjoy.

well, it seems to have repeated week 6 rather than looping back to 1, so probably whatever stalker ones you didn't get last time.

that said, out of week 1, I have braton and lato and they're both fine (braton's probably better) and i've heard Paris is cool, so I'd suggest braton and paris

the only melee to get as a priority is ceramic dagger, when week 3 rolls around again. Anything that wants a stat stick wants that.

Do you need to watch your ammo like a hawk and reload it while holstered, or does it kill fast enough for the ammo recovery from the mod to keep you topped off? If you can frequently shoot it into mobs of 5+ it seems insane, so with the mod helping it's single target damage too that seems pretty good. Does the mod buff the tendrils as well?

They posted a thing saying they're going to let the current options remain for the week, so now's your chance to finish up the Stalker incarnons. It basically just means that instead of 123456 x 3 it'll be 123456 612345 612345, so no real harm done. Naturally this means people are totally melting down on the official forums.

It kills poo poo so quickly that I rarely get the full 20% benefit. It's reloading like 4 or 5 rounds per kill because things are dying so frequently that that's all that I've spent. It buffs absolutely everything including the tendrils, so you pretty much just point it in a direction and it melts whatever is there. Heartier targets can take a bit longer, but it also stacks heat like no one's business and the tendrils will happily still snipe anything around the main target. I've never had a need to watch the ammo count or anything.

It's especially absurd for Yareli.

I hit MR 30 about the same time I finished building all the clan dojo weapons, so it unironically feels like this to me. I was grinding equipment for so long and now I'm at this point where I never have to grind equipment for mod capacity (again, polarity not withstanding) and the only sources of new equipment to grind left are stuff with dedicated farming, not stuff that I can just go to the market or the dojo and build fresh. The game's hand is now pushing me ahead by the shoulder, telling me to go check out all those game modes I've been putting off. I'm doing Granum Voids, I'm progressing the Steel Path, I'm branching out into full builds for more than the same two main warframes I use all the time. Feels good.

Absolutely should not take as long as I've been playing the game to get to feel this way, though.

I've been rather eeeh with regards to circuit randomisation originally, but I'm really starting to warm up to it now. It's actually super neat to get in with alternative gear or frames you wouldn't pick by default for some random SP and see how you fare. Default mod builds aren't the best thing ever for SP, but they're still decent enough and well, decrees solve everything over time.

Like, I never expected to go melt SP Grineer with Oberon wielding a Prisma Grakata and Prisma Twin Gremlins, but that happened and worked out incredibly well. Admittedly the frame is full of armour shards and fitted with Smite Infusion but the guns were.

Another one was Yareli and the remotely detonated bomb secondaries which (I didn't realise) come with only 4 ammo in total. But those things come with a default modding that gives 104% crit chance, and you get Yareli's passive on top of that. I had a hilarious time using Riptide to bunch up stuff and bombing the poo poo out of them. The decree that gives 200/300% extra damage to the first shot after reload was probably involved at some point. edit: Aegrit, that's the one, 37% base crit chance. Might go and forma it to see how far I can push it.
