The Kestrel remains hilarious and useful. That level 150 Napalm Heavy can't do poo poo when he's on the ground after a boomerang to the face.Gestalt Intellect posted:Recent discovery: Don't sell parts for things you're currently building in the foundry. I was making a Mag Prime and sold my extra components since I figured the game would actually subtract the ones you used to build from your inventory, and now she's completely disappeared from my foundry. It's even weirder than you think. I did the same thing, but when I got a new BP, the item showed up as finished in the Foundry. I think it actually uses your components, but the BP sticks around because you need it to claim your ticket. If you can, try getting a new BP before anything else, and then check if it's still building/done in the Foundry.

So I guess that means if you want to get the slow effect from cold damage, you can't have any other elements. I guess the same goes for fire, but you can get electric and toxin by themselves since they're lower priority.

I could be completely off base here, but it seems like they really nerfed AP/puncture as a damage type, but then really ramped up the vulnerability multipliers. If I'm not imagining things, I think they're trying to push puncture damage into a "bad for spray and pray but good for sniping weakspots" deal.

Bosses don't "drop" blueprints anymore, you get a guaranteed prize from their table at the end of mission screen. You should double check your foundry.

Glaive Prime is in Void Defense. I've gotten like 4 Blades so far and none of the Braton parts I actually want. Also the poster above me is dumb. The Braton Vandal is a fine gun, especially now that it has a 10% proc chance.

Miffroon posted:So I've not played for a long time (Operation Slingstone) questions about mods as I'm confused now. Can I now just have one mod of a certain type (example: Focus or serration) for use across multiple warframes/weapons? As it seems that when I started my new Valkyr I was able to select mods that were locked in on my Vauban. I certainly hope this means I can reuse mods on several things without having to remove them each time, and it'll save me time trying to level several versions of the mod Yes, but not equipped at the same time. The only time this actually comes up is with the sentinel weapons. That's part of the reason the shotgun sentinel weapon is so good. You can have all your good rifle mods on you main gun and all your good shotgun mods on the sentinel without needing duplicates. Swap out the shotgun for the Dethcube Rifle if you want to main a shotgun.

The number are a bit off right now, but the way AP (now puncture) works is based on the puncture stat of your weapon. In theory, if your weapon does like 90% of it's damage with puncture, you would want to slot one of the old AP mods.

You can solo all the legwork quickly enough, and then you only have to do one defense with four lapis antitoxins to get the max reward. The only thing stopping you from finishing it in a half hour is the six hour day night cycle.

President Ark posted:Are there any melee weapons that do hilarious things in crowds of enemies? When I first played this game I was looking at the Bo staff for being able to juggle crowds forever, but apparently that got nerfed into the floor. Is there anything else that's even slightly comparable? My usual playstyle in this sort of game is "Invincible rear end in a top hat who runs around dicking with enemies by crowd controlling/debuffing them forever and being a giant brick wall". I kind of end up pimping it a bit too much, but the Kestrel's ground slam attack has a pretty decent range AE knockdown in addition to the thrown charge attack ragdoll shenanigans.

This is seriously the least grindy event possible. Take a few runs to get the 25% toxin. Do a single defense mission with other people in the same boat. You now have all the rewards outside the silly epeen statues.

Shade probably has better utility, but won't fire on enemies except in retaliation. Dethcube is better if you want your pet to help kill everything. Either way I'd suggest keeping Carrier's shotgun in the sentinel weapon slot.

This event can be very silly. SubstanceD, Arckade, and I ran it with a Nekros, Loki, and Frost. The event turned in to a billion Hellions trying to take potshots at the bubbled excavator before having their weapons stolen and dying en mass. Then Nekros poked their corpses for a bit so we ended up with 17 Tailwinds. We decided to go to 3k Cryotic just for the hell of it, and walked out with around 2.5k enemy kills. I didn't quite get to 1000 kills personally, but it a near thing.

nerdz posted:One question I have about the warframes: Were they created to be an Ember/Excalibur/Nova model with their powers from the get go or they were just generic frame bodies that were shaped and adjusted by their combat experience and preferences over time. I kinda feel like it's the latter, given their backstories. I feel like they kind of did something clever where each Warframe was designed to be a cool archetype in universe for the exact same reason that they were designed to be a cool archetype in game. Because you have to have kids/players project themselves into them and feel badass for everything to function. An operator dreaming in his or her pod can assume the role of a space frost wizard or whatever because it's kind of a broad character.
