Okay, holy poo poo. I was just sticking doughballs to peoples' faces when I looked at my ammo counter, tried both spam firing and charge firing, and came to a realization. Stug uses fractional ammo. You can spew something like a dozen or more mini doughballs for the cost of a single bullet, or you can charge up a big doughball for the cost of a single bullet. You know how we've complained that weapons don't have individual ammo counts, and are stuck with universal rifle/sniper/shotgun/pistol ammo counts? Now consider Stug's incredibly bizarre and rear end-backwards fractional ammo on top of that. I think DE has buried the universal ammo counts so deep in their game that they're afraid of going in to mess with it.

I always bring out the Ember three step procedure - Get in the middle of the poo poo, survive getting into the middle of the poo poo, burn the poo poo. Step 1 is not built-in, Step 2 got nerfed and now outright pulled. Denzine tells me Fireball is on its way to being kind of good, and I like hearing this, but it means Ember has yet another step 3 but not quite because self-damage for god's sake how did that even happen DE get that fixed. The hellstep teleport that came up in the past was an amazing concept and should be folded into Fire Blast. Ragdoll implosion at start point, Fire Blast ring at endpoint, thus giving a step 1 and 3 hybrid power. I want a nightmare frame that gets up close fast, DE wants a damage caster, everyone is happy. World on Fire does not act as advertised (it never really did, with a 3 target limit). In part, I understand it is somewhat broken (one target limit is apparently not intended?) - obviously, this should be fixed. The new effect screams for AOE damage even more than the old effect, and why shouldn't it have AOE while Molecular Prime and Shield Polarize exist? We can't deliberately target this power in the first place, AND it has a target limit. The random nearby eruptions should be doing AOE damage too since, again, they are untargetable and occur within a relatively constrained area. In fact, all of the eruptions should be knocking dudes on their asses with direct hits. They're clearly mirroring Ruk's ground eruption with the new effect, and I'm pretty sure Ruk's ground eruption has a knockdown. People can argue that Accelerant having a Radial Blind like effect is survivability through CC, but I think that's a poor excuse and still prefer tank Overheat. Not to mention a pseudo Radial Blind on something like Ember seems a little out of place. Honestly, these new 100% fire procs from her powers should be causing every enemy they hit to . I have no suggestion on survivability other than to bring back tank Overheat, but if Accelerant is here to stay, it could stand to be a little more interesting with the damage bonus. DE wants her to be a pure caster, then I think she needs another angle, and that DE needs to embrace the pyromania more. Ember's old targets of choice, light infested, are no longer on the map consistently, and at the same time it looks like armor's coming back. The enemies don't spawn from enough different positions to make it too interesting. The first event defense I did was on the huge open tile with the injector in a large building in one corner, that had a cylindrical tunnel as a back entrance. The Hellions broke. They just... broke. They would jumpjet once, land, warp to a different spot, and start standing around like lemons for the rest of the game, jamming up the rest of the dudes trying to come in. The Grineer couldn't even figure out how to get out of the back entrance tunnel. If you looked out into the open area there would be Hellions standing around all over the place and other Grineer trying to path around them. We actually started going out of our way to try clearing up the jams by killing Hellions because it was getting kind of boring. And then there's the matter of uneven spawn distribution. The second event defense I did had the injector exposed in the center of a big platform, dudes coming from all sides. I roamed in circles around the injector platform until noticing one incoming path wasn't occupied by someone and still had lots of dudes coming in, so I camped out there, starting with the Aklex I was releveling, and moving up close for Ignis and Rhino Stomps when the Aklex was running low on damage. Turns out that the mapgen weighted my chosen path so heavily for enemy spawns that I had twice the kills of anyone else at the end, despite the Nyx and other Rhino coming by my spot occasionally to kill a bunch of dudes. Both times, the biggest hazard to the injector was projectiles shooting past us and hitting it. Mostly miter blades. That's about the only reason for you to mind your positioning a bit, if you're not Frosting.

Raid was too straightforward and inoffensive for DE. You run in, you push button, you run out. If memory serves, they want to replace Rescue missions with an Escort In mission type involving a Lotus drone that hacks multiple locations, instead of the current Escort Out. And considering how often DE breaks pathfinding, the first week after that fucker comes out is going to be ugly.

Thus, you don't need to killrace trying to hog XP when in a cohesive defense group, something pubbies generally seem to not grasp. The worst pubbie groups I've seen will form up at first, then immediately scatter out to spawncamp with a single puff of the flamethrower. The worst individual pubbies I've seen go straight to spawncamping position before the defense is even activated, and start getting mad when it isn't. This is sufficiently outrageous that most other pubbies will be going "what is your problem". The shared XP you receive will be divided among all your stuff, however, so talk to your squad about loadouts if you've got things to level. Sometimes you can contribute meaningfully with a weapon you're working on, sometimes you can stand around absorbing numbers with all poo poo gear while a Rhino buddy tries to dance to industrial music. Also, for anyone who gets pulled off the Survival group by trails of life support tanks, a pair of dual zorens to expedite getting in and out can help prevent further tank accumulation and distraction. Better yet, have a designated tank runner, like an LAPD Loki. Tanks are their job. When it's time to grab mods, the whole group moves. Denzine is a classy person.

You got three loadout variants, put them to good use! Just some things to keep in mind: Iron Skin lasts until it's broken. IIRC, Stomp stun ignores duration mods, but Charge and Roar do not. Maxing an aspect of a power requires Corrupted mods, which will hit another aspect - maxing efficiency (hard cap at 75%) hits duration, maxing range hits strength, etc. What a two foot Charge loses in effectiveness and usefulness, it gains in comedy value. I use a starched but unforma'ed Roar-less max efficiency Rhino that shuffle-charges towards extraction. Denzine's Raptor wrangler Rhino used both Stomp and Roar, but I'm not sure if the technique has changed at all. Rhino simply gives you so much to work with.

Szurumbur posted:I'd rather see powers' availability somewhat changed It's somewhat alleviated (but not fully fixed) by Aura cards, which go into that single slot on the left and give you a flat increase to mod capacity depending on polarity and fusion. IIRC, a maxed Energy Siphon will put another 14 capacity on a Loki. Even this is problematic for a new player since it requires you to get your hand on an Aura card in the first place. That in turn has been somewhat alleviated by trading - check with clan for a spare Energy Siphon. ...wow, when it's described as partial fixes stacked on top of partial fixes, it sounds REALLY bad. Now that I'm thinking about this particular aspect of the problem, I'd like to see them add a new set of four power-specific slots. Without power cards slotted, these slots still act as an unranked power and cost no capacity, thus making them always available. Slotting in a fused power card uses the improved version instead, and the capacity use scaling of the fused cards is altered to accomodate no-capacity-at-unranked, so the cards are still there and not wasted. Unranked power cards will still exist as fusion fodder, and you still get a full set when you build a new frame, as a (very) slight head start in fusing. If DE adds alternate powers for frames, those powers can replace the defaults while the cards are slotted in, so you can still have, for instance, an unranked alternate 2 power. As for the current mod slots, they can be left as-is. If DE is going to add universal powers (I think this was mentioned before? someone confirm?) such as for movement, the power polarity doesn't even need to go away. Of course, if DE also hands each player a free forma for, say, every frame with four power polarity slots they have, allowing players to free up some of those stock power polarity slots, that could make DE real popular for a while.

Grineer were an Earth-based scavenger clan that nobody took seriously until suddenly cloning. When they took a ship, anyone killed fighting back would be collected for clone stock. Noncombatants and anyone who survived or surrendered got the airlock, except for one survivor who get sent out as a witness/warning. Vor was a fat lady cannibal. Ruk was originally a miner with a tongue deformity that made him nearly incomprehensible (some parts made it through, as you can see). He was also so dumb that he was denied reproductive rights. Rumor had it he found an Orokin artifact that compelled everyone to follow him, which is how he suddenly went from miner to general. Corpus were running Grineer cloning operations at some point, and a sabotage mission was to disrupt Grineer attempts at setting up their own operation.
