Most likely you'll hit time limits on the stronghold quests though, so you might want to finish them before Spellhold.

Don't bother with slings, just roll an elf and use a longbow. I don't know anything about the loot in BGEE, but Longbows and Longswords should be a solid weapon combo. And of course, weapons like Spider's Bane have utility use as well.

How does the import process work from BGEE to BG2EE? Same way than the normal games, i.e. you redo your specialization, proficiencies and whatnot? Playing on the iPad, if it makes a difference.

You want to get the kensai levels first, because the whole point of fighter/mage is to be able to cast high level (6-9) wizard spells while being on the front lines. Takes far too long to regain the wizard abilities back if you do it the other way around, even though the fighter HLAs are generally much better. Anyhow, if you want to do a fighter/mage, just do a multiclass one. There's less tedium involved and you get to pick fighter HLAs as well. What's the overall status of BG2EE right now? Buggy or rock solid? I feel like playing again but don't have my old BGT install with me anymore. And since SCS (the only mod I really care about) seems to support both BGEE and BG2EE these days, using the extended editions could save a lot of time.

Avenger is the best single class druid kit. -2 STR -2 CON isn't a problem (especially the CON penalty) and you get quite a bit of offensive spell casting power in return. And like someone said above, the sword spider form is pretty handy as well (5 APR and poison, sign me up!).

The real problem is killing NPCs that the plot requires you to kill... without actually killing them yourself. While things like traps, charm spells or gated demons will surely be a big help, it's not really clear if that's enough to kill say Irenicus in his Hell form. But then again, finding those loopholes that allow you to actually finish the game in such a dumb manner is the whole point of runs like this.

To be fair, the 3D support never really worked well in BG2 back in 2001. It's only now that it's becoming useful, seeing that the 3D drivers have matured while a lot of the old 2D tricks aren't being supported anymore.

Thought I was clever in my ironman run to sneak through Durlag's Tower to grab the Scimitar +2. Didn't remember that the container had a fireball trap though. Edit (non-ironman related): drat I didn't remember how tough Kahrk is in SCS. Fighting a level 12 F/M with PFMW, stoneskins, globes of invulnerability, fireshields, contingencies etc etc is pretty dumb when you don't have any ways to get rid of his spell protections, have a low enough thac0 to reliably hit him or a guy that tank his 3 APR Katana. Had to kite him with a hasted character while the rest of my party killed him with wands.

Everything worked perfectly when I removed her from the group before completing the quest. Dunno if they changed this in EE , but removing Jaheira from your party (or stuff like her getting turned to stone) used to kill the romance. So double check your global variables.

I wish BGEE had an option to restore the original cutscenes. The new ones are significantly shorter and often cut really weirdly.
