They replaced a main character with an italian stereotype. This is more Poochie than Jefferson Darcy.

Opinions are like assholes and all, but I use Family Guy as a measuring stick for comedy that's inappropriate. Their change in humor is easy to spot and serves as a good example. For instance, I told a friend the other night, "Bo Burnham is kind of like Family Guy was before they stopped pointing out how terrible people are with mean characters and started just being mean as a show." I bring this up because I still watch for two reasons. The first is inertia, and the second is that I still think the show can be very funny. I didn't think this was funny at all, and the whole fairy tale anthology thing was so Simpsons-after-they-ran-out-of-ideas-in-2000 that it hurt. I hate when people show up just to poo poo on something with no explanation or follow-up, so just know that I don't think anybody who enjoyed this ep is stupid or anything; I've just seen this done and done better. I'll be back next week with an open mind.

Here's hoping they start trying again, and start using subversive humor to once again make progressive points instead of just being mean for the sake of it.
