Crime scene s1 is alright but it's when they reduce each case from two to one episode that it becomes good. Then season 2 was great

spoilers for squid game I've watched up to episode 6, which is arguably the best hour in that series so far. I honestly didn't like the first two episodes, because although the main guy got to act the gently caress out of his scenes they felt like a lot of melodramatic backstory filler about characters I don't really have any reason to care about yet. There's this feeling it's trying to outParasite Parasite, lol. Ep 6 (the marble game) is the one where their personalities really shine and I would have preferred a lot more of that and a lot less of the protag being a loser. I don't know if it's me but I don't like the games because they are just "childhood games, but murder!" and the first game was arguably done better in As The Gods Will. The bright colour of the set and the working team really do work though, they got a ton of mileage from just that stairs room alone. I'm also intrigued by them having an infiltrator in the working team. I can't judge the whole series yet since I haven't reached the end but I'd say if you enjoy the genius/great escape for the game design, expect this show's games to disappoint you. the character drama is fine but goes into a lot of melodramatic shrieking in the earlier episodes but gets better as it goes. Alice in Borderland has the better game design/rules and worldbuilding.

Watching Murderville on Netflix, I was expecting it to be a smaller scale Crime Scene but it turns out to be more focused on comedy than actual crime solving, which is a shame but the episode with Marshawn lynch is not bad
