Disappointing few votes for Colombia. Latin American games usually end up taking big countries like Brazil, I'd very much like to see an LP of a low-rank Latin American state in that region.

A freer press? Is this proposal a joke? Why next thing we'll be talking about freedom of speech as well! Permitting the acquisition of permits to produce private papers is already a gigantic concession, should we bow down to the demands of some upstart "journalists" we will appear weak! If we must make a concession, then give the workers a framework through which they'll think the crown cares for them. We'll just need to man that framework with our men, and from there it will be simple enough to ensure the loyalty of the peasantry and the factory labourers! B!

The Habsburg Empire may have ties with the rest of the German states, but they are not our people, not in the same way as Badeners are. For so long they've held the greatest power in Germany, and that changes people. So while they're our good friends and allies, and they should remain as such, I would rather die before I share the same country as the Austrians. Doing such would be a naturally disgusting and unnatural act, and I'd like to remind the gentlemen who disagree that it would also invite the possibility of the Austrians taking over our fair portion of Germany from within. So Austria to Austria I say! They can be our allies, at handshake's reach but no closer. A As for demonstrations, I would like to support leniency; but I dare not imagine what sort of government the undisciplined and unprincipled mass of folks that threw themselves' at the national guard's rifles and bayonets would establish. Should any demonstration get out of control, it is our holy duty, to our country and to our children's future, even to God himself, to protect Bavaria from the horrors, from the anarchy that would be birthed should such a "revolution" usurp control of our Bavaria! 1

Rejected Fate posted:I too have this feeling. I'm sure nothing bad will come of these votes. Noooooope. I love how the vote was for "gently caress Austria" right after the NGF formed and we need a strong ally against them more than ever.

David Corbett posted:Great. We're now going to end up as some sort of lolbertarian dictatorship in a big hurry. Hopefully we can rethink this decision in a few decades, once the humour value wears off. You're assuming Bavaria will be around in a few decades.

D1 it seems like all plans involved are dead set on us becoming Ugliest Blob of 2014 so I can only support the one that gets rid of most of our stuff in the hope that we would look slightly less bad.

Kersch posted:Sometimes, I'll manually set to stockpile up to a certain amount: 100, 500, maybe even 2000, of key strategic goods. Reason being that when you queue up say 20 railroads to build, it'll pull everything from your stockpile to build them first, then it'll start buying off of the market. But it only buys up to 10 of each good per day. So if you were to hover over the first railroad in your 'buildings in progress' list you'd see Steel 10/100, Lumber 10/100, etc. on Day 1, then on Day 2 you'd see 20/100, and so on until it purchases enough to start building. Then it moves on to the next railroad you have queued up and starts buying enough. Construction would begin on your 20th railroad over a year after your first one. Doesn't that depend on where you've set your stockpile slider(s) though? So if it's at 10% it'll buy 10/100 steel and 12/120 lumber each day, but if you're at 100% stockpile it'll just buy the whole thing immediately. That's how I thought it worked anyway (and the primary reason behind splitting up the stockpile slider into 3 with HoD; you have good reason to always be rolling 100% construction since in the end the costs remain the same but military and naval stockpiles are only useful at war and consume resources needlessly otherwise).

Personally I'm mostly looking forward to seeing how immigrant-siphon Krakow fares. I hope it never stops being the biggest magnet.

New Nations Mod Ethiopia could be fun - uniting it and then expanding/modernising. Having tried that game I can tell you the uniting part can be a cakewalk if you play your cards right, the expanding part will have you hit the rock wall that is Egypt (when I played Egypt pulled some alliance bullshit involving the united forces of the Ottoman Empire, Persia, and Austria committing their armed forces in the struggle to halt Ethiopian expansionism from the conquest of piece of Sudanese desert).
