Do you guys not use catwalks? 3 cobblestone blocks 8 squares away from each other and catwalks connecting them, you are untouchable until spiders and spitters.

This looks like good framing for a Bubbles playthrough. Your main goal is stealing metal to sell to the trader for various drugs.
