Have I tried to pimp out Brandon yet? Some artists just seem to be head and shoulders above others when it comes to production and this dude is one of them. https://soundcloud.com/brandon1980s/brandon-beverly-hills-girls

Eh it was a 'thing' that happened a year or two, and was pretty much 99% lifting other people's music to do it. It made a few headlines and pissed a lot of people off but that was about it. Except it came out Action Jackson (I think anyway) was legit a bit that way, which was a shame.

There was a video set to Invasion AD that was some anti-refugee fascist horseshit and Carpenter Brut immediately set out to violently suppress it. It made a lot of /pol/ turds really mad but i hadn't known it was an entire thing.

How about some new wave from when it really was new? I'm primarily stuck on that sort of thing, post punk and 'new' wave, and being from Serbia I know a huge amount of bands operating all over Yugoslavia in the 80s. Think we really kicked rear end as far as music goes in that time period, so I'll drop some representative stuff down. Videosex - modern-day Slovenia No way you can talk about new wave in Yugoslavia without mentioning this band. Anja Rupel was(is) adored and they are icons of the new wave movement. Videosex - Videosex Videosex - Kako bih volio da si tu Videosex - Detektivska prica (live) Beograd - modern-day Serbia Splendid synthwave, 'nuff said. Beograd - Sanjas li u boji? Beograd - Opasne igre Kaos - modern-day Croatia Croatia had one hell of a punk and post punk scene. More often than not, if you hear good poo poo from that end of the spectrum you can bet it came from Croatia, really a bunch of hella good bands. Kaos is very representative of the post punk scene. Kaos - Satovi bez kazaljke Kaos - Tigar Hope all of you enjoy this little preview of the Yugoslavian new wave scene. Now I am barely scratching the surface here, if enough people dig this stuff I will gladly take you for another run around the ex-Yu scene .

When you make sweeping generalizations like this I don't think you have a heart at all. Or eyes to read the title of the thread that tells you everything you need to know about what is contained in it. Suppose we can all start making sweeping judgments on you too. Like how there is no way you appreciate (insert quality animation title here) because anime is terrible and thus you won't understand.

Everybody likes Videosex . Darn shame that all of these existed in a time where it was hard for them to get to a larger audience, took a lot more than having some Balkan dude be in the zone between all smashed the gently caress up and dying from the hangover long enough to push some keys. Think a bunch really could have made a bigger impact. Oh, well, we shall fix what we can, onwards we go . Data - modern day Serbia These dudes I just goddamn love, so popish and yet so drat good. Shame that all they have are these two. Danced like crazy to the first one a couple of months ago, a friend was spinning records at a bar, new wave night, it was smashing . Data - Ne zovi to ljubavlju Data - Neka ti se dese prave stvari Via Talas - modern day Serbia And now for something a bit different. This sort of new wave was pretty much the Serb thing. The daughter of this playa is handling singing here. Via Talas - Sama Via Talas - Ti Paraf - modern day Croatia You can pretty much guess right? A bit on the softer side compared to Kaos, just love this tune. Not only are they from the same country, but both bands actually hail from Rijeka, as do many other, that place was incredible in the 80s, and it has a pretty good alterntive scene even today. Just had a band from there play over here in Subotica, it was goddamn good, will have to visit that place and see what the hell is going on . Paraf - Javna kupatila poo poo, just remembered all of you don't got a clue about this, think its a pretty fun fact. That second tune from Kaos? Tigar? The one with the breathing on start. It's about sniffing glue. But not any ordinary glue mind you, hell no. Tigar. Tigar P5, in a 660 gram tin can, to be exact. That was our motherfucking superweapon. Darn thing had a heavy duty psychoactive substance in it, so you were not just sniffing glue, oh no, you where sniffing glue in some parallel universe god knows where as you where tripping balls like insane under that stuff. Cheap, easily obtainable and hits like a truck, it was pretty much the go to drug for the alternative crowd. They just don't make it like they used to . Yo folks, don't know what happened to the vaporwave & related genres thread, so I s'pose this could go here. I just released a new album and make an interactive ~Multimedia Experience~ for it in the style of those little CD-ROM apps that would run if you put an album in a CD drive from like 1997 until 2001. It only works on computer browsers and is probably a bit buggy. Especially if you mess with slow motion mode. The link is here: http://jaytholen.net/celestialarchive/ It's also on youtube over yonder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GR19S1rh82c And the bandcamp is here: http://music.jaytholen.net
