Yo folks, don't know what happened to the vaporwave & related genres thread, so I s'pose this could go here. I just released a new album and make an interactive ~Multimedia Experience~ for it in the style of those little CD-ROM apps that would run if you put an album in a CD drive from like 1997 until 2001. It only works on computer browsers and is probably a bit buggy. Especially if you mess with slow motion mode. The link is here: http://jaytholen.net/celestialarchive/ It's also on youtube over yonder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GR19S1rh82c And the bandcamp is here: http://music.jaytholen.net

is there a separate thread for non-synthwave highfalutin experimental electronic music or is this it? i'm looking for stuff similar to the last 2ish years of Orange Milk Records releases. i'd call that vaporwave adjacent I s'pose because of the death's dynamic shroud connection. the sonic palette contains more FM/wavetable synthesis and windowsXP/vista-esque piano & found sounds and the song structures are usually bonkers. often it sounds like the electronic version of free jazz or weirder non-jammy prog. any other labels out there doing similar stuff?
