Thanks for the write up. I have always wanted to play a game like the Conan stories. I actually went and bought Blade of the Iron Throne yesterday - it's half price on Drivethru RPG at the moment till the 12th. Character creation does look awesome. I am a bit worried how the combat works - it looks a bit fiddly to my d20 addled brain. I really want to play this game

Ratoslov posted:Yeah, I've always wanted to see a sci-fi RPG where Earth was generally considered by aliens to be some kind of poisonous hell-planet. We respirate corrosive oxygen, our piss can eventually melt steel, we poison ourselves for fun, and we domesticated our primary predator before we invented the wheel. So everyone has the impression that we're space orcs. Not an RPG but there is a series of novels by Alan Dean Foster that follow this premise. A Call to Arms is the first one.

ZorajitZorajit posted:I remember playing Blackguards a couple years back. I wanna say that was based on this system. I really wanted to like the game, because some of my tertiary knowledge of TDE made it pretty appeal. Unfortunately that game was a slog. Happy to see your write-up though! Blackguards 2 was much better though, and the adventure games Chains of Satinav and Memoria were really good.
