And, on the first thing, as someone working closely with Detroit Public Schools, the entire issue around Campbell has been pretty obnoxious. If any other kid did that, they would basically be kicked out on the streets after one offense like that. However, Campbell's been a punk for years now, ends up assaulting a security guard, and quotes like this appear in the paper:


It's completely fair. He broke the law flagrantly, acted poorly as a result, and now is going to jail over it. It's not a one-time offender thing. And two, Cass Tech is not above the law, despite alum after alum of theirs acting like it in Detroit.

Given that Rutgers went 6-7 against objectively worse teams than even lovely Big Ten teams, I'm pretty sure "challenging" for the conference means having to have beat at least two of Ohio State, Michigan State, Penn State, and Michigan and that's just not happening. And beating two of those probably still means you finished third in the division.

If Rutgers finishes third or better in its division, I will buy and consume (over the course of a few days) a cookie cake decorated with an icing crow, provided that I can find a place that will draw a crow on a cookie cake.

Dantonio has quietly built a monster at MSU, so at least we have more than one top tier program. Penn State is starting to trend upwards, and Michigan had enough power and wealth to turn the program around quickly, if they got a good coach. Hoke has been a great recruiter, but let's be honest that 9-3 is basically his ceiling.
