Could also just... not properly explain the civ that's super spoilery. Assuming their colors and city names aren't inherent spoilers, all you'd really have to do is black out the name in overview screens and not show any diplomacy. :v:

Fake edit: And I suppose give vague descriptions as to what their UA/UU/UB are, etc.
