The shoulder is the sexiest part of the body and should be exposed more. Have you never attracted a mate by tearing off your sleeves and "giving them the cold shoulder"?

They should have the fancy under-arm plates so they don't get shot in the armpit.

I think I understand what's going on there, but I have no idea why you'd design it like that.

Sort of, only less nice. They'd have to keep the centre space open for the farmland that produces their key vegetables, while well trained rangers go outside to hunt the huge violent beasts that roam the world for most of their calories. The open space at the top would be criss-crossed with wires to keep the giant predatory birds out, and there would be brave/foolhardy spotters up at the tops of thin towers to keep watch for the herds of megabeasts who could still destroy them and must be diverted.

On a much smaller scale, without the giant people or harpoon acrobats.

It's no fun if they can just grapple gun out of the way of the stampeding house-sized sheep.

Picks and spears of various types would make sense for killing things significantly larger and tougher than yourself. Enough weight to build up a lot of force in the swing, or thrust with your entire weight behind it, a very small contact area to penetrate thick hide, relatively simple to use so you can throw a lot of expendable peasants at the problem... Traps of some sort would probably be better though.

The old fashioned method of "herd it into the brush and then torch everything" would probably work as well.

I believe those are "paned" sleeves. I don't know if they're a specific sort of short jacket.

The only way I can see this working is if the morningstar has two spikes missing to give it a flat side to rest up against the body.

You know those stories you hear about how sanatoriums were early-mid 20th century, with people being strapped to their beds 23 hours a day, electro-shock therapy for everything, and doctors giving people lobotomies to make them "calmer"? Sort of that, with more bolt guns and occasional demons bursting out of foreheads. Alternatively, witch doctor. With a real witch who can invade your mind, locate your inner demons and tear them out with raw psychic energy that gives you brain a sunburn.

I have a feeling there was a period where Damion Hellstrom wore business suits, but I couldn't say when. He's normally shirtless to show off the big pentagram on his chest.

A moth. Just a regular moth. A regular, unthreatening moth. Why yes, it is death's head hawk moth! Are you interested in entomology? My great grandfather was so interested in moths and butterflies. He could spend hours in contemplation of the great metamorphoses they went through, and how such a delicate and beautiful creature could produce caterpillars that would devastate a crop...
