In the last thread someone literally posted mindflayer porn so I am assuming some sort of image sweep grabbed it.

I really like the picture, but it's one of the few that always gives me an uncomfortable feeling when I look at it. I'm not really positive why.

Because it's little children being forced to fight against the dead bodies of other children, who we can only assume were once their friends and neighbours, and therefore these survivors have been exposed to a harsh world of life and death that we (as adults) would strive to protect them from?

There's Larpers of Sweden which contains a mix of "inspiration" posts (usually shots from movies, artwork, so on) and actual photos of Scandinavian larpers doing their thång.

Sorry for being uninitiated scum but who is this artist? The picture looks really similar to a Star Wars comic I once had. I really need to find that thing; it must have been a reprint from a comic that came out right around when the EpIV first premiered because it is very 70s and definitely not canon, even w/ the EU.

The late Al Williamson, I believe, who did indeed work on Star Wars comics (among other things).

First, yikes, don't leech gigantic images straight from wikipedia. Especially not without timg'ing them first.

Second, that's clearly a spearman.

I am not sure how you can do a GIS for "fireflies" and not end up with any pictures of fireflies at all, but ok!

Friends, I need images fit for the Arabian Nights. As high fantasy or as low fantasy as you like, anything goes: people, places, monsters, magic. Show me everything! I'll get the ball rolling.

That is indeed both spooky and gross.

Thread, I would love some dark and gothic styled images, especially Renaissance-era type stuff (light armour, flintlocks, and so forth) rather than the earlier, more heavy-plate-mail kind of thing. If you can help me out on this, I will reward you. With more images of stuff.

Here's a meta thing.

"Assonance" asserts articulations all assigned an a-e-i-o-u antecedent affix.

"Consonance" conveys comparable conditions concerning consonants.

And alternating between both can create decently delightful entertaining examples for friends' genuine gratification.

You wanna try looking for fanart of Papyrus and Sans, the skeleton brothers from the game Undertale.

They're goofy as heck.

Watch out for massive spoilers on some of the fanart, though, which is why I didn't just post a whole bunch here.

So, I got another request for you fine folks, assuming it's not been done to death:

Lady Swashbucklers.

They can be the classic fencer type, or not. In fact, it would be interesting to see any that fit the profile outside the usual cultural archetype, though that's far from required. Specifically, I'm looking for those that convey a specific confident/arrogant attitude, sense of danger, and/or flamboyant appearance, and would fit within a high or low fantasy setting.

Thanks, now I'm going to need some fantasy flags/coat of arms. In particular, I'd like some that could represent nations that are ruled by fantasy races such as elves, dwarves, kobolds, and orcs.

I have made some flags before, but they are mostly contemporary.

However if you like, I can do designs with a more old-school presentation:

Oh, God. I really need the perfect coat of arms for my character, the seventeenth son of the Goblin King.

It's something that has to look suitably heraldic, representing both a vile and powerful, sinister lord of the fey, but that can be looked at as something a benign and good-natured person wouldn't mind carrying around because they're proud of their royal lineage.

I've been trying to think of something that works, but I keep falling short. Standard things like stars and chevrons? Too bland. A skull? Too evil. It has to presumably be an animal, maybe? Any suggestions or help anyone can provide would be hugely appreciated.

I tried thinking of something vile and powerful masquerading as proud royal heritage and ended up with this:

Probably not exactly what you were aiming for.

That's not exactly what I was aiming for, but thank you so much for throwing that together. Would it be possible to see what that would look like with the crosses replaced by moths?

(It's very Wolfenstein, was that the inspiration?)

Moths are harder to draw than those crosses, which are basically one square and four circles aligned in the right way. I'd give it a try but there's a really bad heatwave going on over here and I don't want to do anything more strenuous than breathe.

The inspiration was basic fascism with some more old-school Germanic imagery (the crosses) since that is p. good at getting across the right motif.

LucyWanabe posted:

This is awesome. I know I wasn't the one who requested this, but would I be able to use it for a game? This would be perfect for one of the nations in my homebrew campaign setting.

Knock yourself out, I guess? Let me know if you need any other flags/banners once this heatwave ends.

I decided to run an Ironclaw campaign a ways back (that swapped to an adapted version of Strike because good lord the underlying system is a mess in practice, but we kept the setting) and this campaign involves quite a few spellcasters, so if anyone has pictures of anthropomorphic animal wizards, it'd be quite helpful.

I want to preface this by saying there is so much loving porn out there oh my god but I did my darndest. Going in order of most evil to least evil.
