My kid had asked us what we were laughing at so much while we were reading this thread, so we told her all about the shoddy hotels, the death courses, the dogs. She went off to play with some modeling clay, and a little while later produced this:

Sochi dogs! So cute and friendly!

...until one of the skiers eats it on a jump.

"He's screaming and holding his knee!" She chirps helpfully.

And, apparently, trying to fend off the starving dogs with one of his ski poles. :pwn:

I got a kick out of watching the slopestyle event and seeing the Finnish coach standing at the top of the run next to his guy as he was about to go and KNITTING. Presumably a soft cap for the guy to wear on his cracked skull later on in the hospital.

Also, why do the snowboarder's vests have ruffled sleeves along with a grandma's quilt patchwork pattern? It looks like 'Holly Hobby Goes Snowboarding'.
