You’re telling me Peter Parker is ...... Spider-man!?

Holy poo poo, hahaha. I DVR'ed Fallon to see 2Chainz's performance and it caught the tail end of Leno. During Garth Brooks' performance when the audience is singing along, there's this woman singing horribly out of key that you can hear over the rest of the audience.

Haven't seen the rest of the episode yet but that's definitely not an indication of a quality last show.

Come on what would you consider to be a good final show?

Things like this?

Conan's bitterness at the end was maybe the best Tonight Show in years.

I still laugh at the concept of s Bugatti Veyron dressed as a mouse, while the song "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by The Rolling Stones played in the background

Conan replacing Dave was a random revelation that I had last night too. It could very well be set up for him...network timeslot, NYC studio, everything.

Would he have to go on an Abe Vigoda hunt?

He used to have Max Weinberg, and the interplay between them was always loving hilarious. I really miss that with his new show He has the Basic Cable Band now, and for the most part, they don't do anything interesting. Conan still rips on La Bamba every once in a while but it's not as funny as it used to be when he was doing it on the Late Night show on NBC. Mark Pender doesn't bust out his own songs anymore. Mike (the bassist) is used in skits when Conan's talking about black people and Mike will be shown silently thinking that Conan doesn't know poo poo about black people. But that's basically it as far as band interaction. There's Basic Cable Name That Tune, which is one of my favorite skits on his current show, but the band just plays the tunes and doesn't say anything. Brian Stack is the real star of that bit.

I like his current show and watch it every night it's new, but I'll agree that it's missing some of the charm of his old show(s).

I miss the party pics that Conan, Max, and Joel had.

Surely Fallon can live up to the standard set by Leno for the past 20 years.

Or Leno gets bored of retirement

Is it really that prestigious anymore? I mean, I'm not saying that the Tonight Show doesn't still get a lot of viewers or that it's not something that you would work your entire career to get, but the way NBC has been going for the last several years makes me feel like the network has lost a lot of its prestige in general.

30 Rock showed NBC current strategy

I'd say premiering after the Olympics is like the late night version of getting The Voice as a lead-in.

Or in Late Night terms its like having The Jay Leno Show as the lead in.

Have you ever seen them live? They are incredible and anybody who is even a casual fan needs to check out at least one of their shows. YouTube videos (or even pro videos) don't really do the shows justice either.

Yeah I have seen them live, and they were one of the best shows of I have ever seen.
