Fallon's guests were terrific tonight. Chris Evans sharing stories with his brother there was hilarious. I know there's a degree of interview preparation with basically everyone except Craig, but Fallon's Tonight Show is good at making it feel more like "we planned out how we're gonna have fun with this guest!", and less like "here's some canned anecdotes!" Conan's REALLY bad about the latter, especially when there's a standup comic on and he just asks questions that cue them up for part of their set.

Geno posted:Hmm, would he have to move back to NYC? It's possible that CBS might actually like to have the Late Show move to LA; that lets them grab some of the Hollywood guests that NBC can't book as easily because both of their shows are in New York.

Every news site is citing Norm MacDonald tweets as their singular confirmatory source, so let's not get ahead of ourselves. I'll be happy if it's true, though!

For a moment I thought Irish Joe was saying Letterman was dead.

Sir Lemming posted:Tony Hale was on Colbert last night -- they talked a whole bunch about Veep and Toy Story 4 but not a word about the new run of Arrested Development eps. Not a mention of the show at all except one very brief name drop, in passing, to provide context for an unrelated anecdote, and it felt like he said it as fast as possible to avoid talking about it. Guess the show's done. Unsurprising. They had a PR collapse just before launching the first half of S5, everyone is disgusted by Tambor, and the new episodes are garbage. Nobody wants to see the second half of S5 and releasing it is basically a dreaded formality.
