What I think helps the show's case is that it picked up significant DVR bumps last year, and since FX is a basic cable channel that people subscribe to (well, as part of a package, anyway), it matters less how they watch, so long as they watch.

Are DVR and online viewing being tracked, now? The last time I read about TV ratings, which was quite a few years ago, shows were getting hurt by the fact that a lot of their core audience was moving away from regular scheduled TV.

I don't see a lot of advertising in general, but I'm surprised if this is being seen as a period drama. I think I first heard about it from the first season OP here, but what caught my attention were "spies" and "80s nostalgia". "Period drama" just sounds boring.

"Why didn't the fat warehouse schlub have the physical confidence to overpower/evade the KGB agent if she was only armed for close combat": sincere TVIV tactical realism complaint

I love this.

I also am not at all disliking the Paige scenes, and I'm not sure why people are getting hung up on them. Maybe it's because we don't see MORE Paige scenes where she's at school telling her friends "My mom said to me 'Why would you open a closed door, Paige?' You mean your parents open doors all the time?" or talking about how her parents would disappear all the time when she was young and could barely remember. But I don't think that would be good for the show, either. I think we just have to accept the fact that Paige has long harbored suspicions about her parents and she's growing up enough that she wants to check on them. And honestly, I think you should have known there would be a kids-finding-out storyline coming in -- this show was always going to be about the challenges of Russian spies living as a nuclear family with children.

Which would be a problem for her how? To be fair I don't really get what her plan was anyway.

Also I like to think that the whole honey pot propeller thing was written to pacify assholes like me who are still upset about how easily the factory worker folded. Now it makes perfect sense, he was FBI and deliberately guided them towards the fake plans!

Wait, THAT was the propeller that exploded? I kinda assumed they were talking about some random mission in the past -- wouldn't it take at least a year or two to go from stealing pictures to putting it on a sub?
