Secretly force socialism, communism and imperialism types of government onto the people of the United States of America.

Bit of an odd request here; are there any comics from and/or about life in the Middle East? I've not read Persepolis, but I think that would be on the cusp of what I'm looking for. However, I'm looking for something with a twist - an element of sci-fi or alternate history or noir, maybe.

Also, on a lark I bought the comixology SXSW bundle -- any recommendations of where to start with this gargantuan collection? Just so I'm not simply asking for a reading list, here are the last few comics I've read and really liked:
King City - loved the "gently caress the plot, I'm going to draw stuff I feel like drawing" sensibility and just how vibrant and alive Graham made the city.
Stumptown - I thought the artwork was subtly beautiful, and found the story and characters to be compelling and real. Reminded me of Twin Peaks, in the best way.
Prophet - love most of the artwork (usually the issues Graham drew), and the concept behind it. Also Graham really has a knack for making his universes feel alive.
East of West - blown away by the crispness of the artwork, love the notion of Death as the main character.

Hopefully that gives some ideas of what I like.

On the subject, I was pretty terrible at following storylines when I was a kid, but I enjoyed what I read of Batman No Man's Land. I never finished reading it -- is it worth tracking down some trade paperbacks of that?

This inspired me to check if the 50% off code would work for the two newest Hellboy Omnibuses, which are not listed in the splash page for the Dark Horse sale.

It does. :homebrew:

So I watched and loved the Spider-Verse movie this weekend. I know that's based off a series, but I don't quite know where to start and, more importantly, if that series has the lighthearted, funny narrative and extremely vibrant and dynamic artistic direction. I particularly liked the awkward teen relationship between Miles and Gwen, as well as the schlubby B-list Spider-Man who has made bad choices in life and wants to correct them.

Any guidance? Particular runs or series to scratch those itches?

Thanks for the help! I think I actually have vol 1 of Spider Gwen on comixology already, so I guess I'll start there.

There's a bunch of Hickman FF for sale on comixology. I've never read any FF, but have heard pretty much only good things about his run.

However, I'm sort of hot and cold on Hickman so far (I found HoX/PoX to have too much worldbuilding and not enough story, enjoyed the first four trade paperbacks of East of West, and bounced off Manhattan Projects after the first trade paperback). Is it worth checking out given that?
