People always talk up Amanda Conner's art but it looks exactly the same as every other DC House Look art to me

I mean honestly the only comic I've read in the past... my entire life, honestly, is Ms. Marvel #1 and I really liked the way the characters are drawn in that so seeing Amanda Conner Pinup Sexytime Power Girl just doesn't do anything for me

e: well and Hip-Hop Family Tree but that doesn't count

Ah, so that's what's happening there, huh?

See, that's the problem with people posting manga in this thread. For every Baki post that actually deserves a spot here, we get dozens of manga posts that need an explainer as to why they're badass. And then the people posting the manga get super defensive and blame the thread for being racist against glorious Nippon and its wonderful comics.

At this point, it's predictable to the point of being ridiculous.

those three panels literally could not be more obvious as to what is happening and you are projecting so hard you should apply for a job at AMC

I remember some goofball thing from around the time Gen X started up where her powers were supposed to be capable of creating the equivalent of a nuclear fusion bomb and Emma Frost saying she was the most powerful mutant of them all or something like that. I believe she also straight-up was exploding space-ships during the Age of Apocalypse. Jubilee, everybody! Let's give it up for Jubilee.

what's up with the late 90s and writers deciding to have Emma Frost go around telling other X-Men that actually, their powers are world-destroyingly powerful and they're just too stupid or lazy to use them right

A few questions.

1) Why did Emma blow up Firestar's horse?
2) How did Emma blow up Firestar's horse, she's a world class psychic, but not an explosives expert.
3) Why did Firestar even have a horse, she can fly while covered in flames, I feel like that cuts down on the desire to ride another animal.

1.) to gaslight her into joining the Massachusetts School by convincing her that because she got horny for Cannonball she lost control of her powers
2.) she didn't actually blow up a horse, she set the stable on fire and the horse died but the way its depicted sequentially

3.) being an upper middle class girl in New England is pretty sick
