Got a code from comixology for 65% off image, linewide. Already planning to catch up on East of West and Saga, and the second volume of Multiple Warheads.

Anything else I should snag?

Yeah, the email I got says that it's a one time code. Don't know if it's an A/B roll-out or if it's because I'm a rube that has spent a stupid amount at Comixology already.

I just noticed that Amazon Prime's reading library includes a ton of comics for free. Most of the new Star Wars comics (which have been decent), and a lot of other Marvel and DC Volume 1's.

Is there a substantive difference between the anniversary Sandman tpbs in that sale and other ones (which I now can’t find on comiXology)? I have the first 4 of the old ones, thinking about getting the rest, as I have now overcome my dislike of the artwork in the first volume and am planning on reading the full series.

Anyone have any guidance on what's worth buying in this Humanoids sale on comixology? I'm kind of an alt/euro comics neophyte (my main knowledge is from seeing Brandon Graham's Instagram stories) but i've heard good things about Metabarons and Black Incal. At $.99/volume I'm inclined to just get whatever's good.

edit: I also noticed there's a fairly sizable X-Force sale going on. Same question (my experience with X-Force is limited to reading a bunch of Cable & Deadpool volumes when I was a teenager)

Oh drat, I forgot about that bundle! Perfect.

And thanks, Retro, looks like the Remender X-Force run is there in two volumes. I'll pick those up.

Come for the Moebius, stay for the Manara.

i took part in a beta trial for the new comixology app (the NDA has lifted as of today, since they're rolling out the updated app now, according to an email they just sent out) and i'm morbidly curious as to what it will look like. sincerely hope they took some feedback and made meaningful changes.

a few months ago, it was effectively a stripped down version of the kindle reader for iPad. The storefront UI was janky as all hell, subscription service navigation seemed like a nightmare (I don't do any subscriptions but I did explore it a little bit). if I had to choose between finding comics on amazon's storefront in a web browser or discovering new comics on the beta version of the new app, I would hop on my laptop 100% of the time.

my iPad got the update pushed and yeah this is basically what it looked like a few months ago. I think the only change is the pinch & zoom to change cover size. The storefront stuff looks the same -- 5-6 carousel rows of stuff, mostly just trying to get me to look at Comixology Unlimited and Prime Reading stuff. Also forgot to mention that the list feature (which is buried in the user settings) is trash, disappointingly.

Is there any way in this new, terrible app to get rid of the tiny "active" comic at the bottom of the screen on iOS? I'm done with reading and it seems like it's stuck there forever until I choose something else.

lol i reported this bug months ago, as it also interferes with the ability to read descriptions of comics and select certain buttons (eg "read more" to expand a description of a book). :waycool:
