As they came in for a landing, Karel went through the final prelims with his squads. "RT-4520, RT-4530, RT-4560, comms check. For the purposes of this op, you are now designated Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie squads. As soon as we land, our shuttle here will be blowing a hole through the northern wall of the enclosure. Alpha, is is your duty to be first off and suppress that breach as soon as it is open. Bravo, you will be assaulting it, under cover from Alpha. As soon as you are ensconced inside, you will be provided cover fire for Alpha to move up. Charlie, you will likely be joining them, but standby for final orders, as I may have a secondary target for you."

With that said, he turned his attention back outside. "There, bring it in there, pilot, and standby for gunnery duty." Having pointed out the desired landing spot, he turned his attention to something that had attracted his interest from above, but now that they were lower, he took a closer look. Namely, that transport the rebels seemed to be loading off to the east. If it was lightly defended, it may be worthwhile to redirect his final squad to it, after all.

Barring seeing anything that might change my mind on the approach, planning to land by the northern wall and blowing a hole in it using the shuttle's laser cannons.

As we're coming in to land, what kind of activity is going on around the Medium Transport(or whatever that is in the east)?

Cell Black - Weytin's Colony

The sound of the Z95s taking off is audible as Viktor opens the door and easily slips into the chaos of Rebel troops running back and forth, getting armed. At a glance, it appeared they were all rushing for the northwest section of the building and then returning with armaments.

Lambda Shuttle - Weytin's Colony

With ease, the Lambda's twin laser cannons blast a hole in the northern wall of the base as the shuttle settles down on the grass, the stormtroopers immediately springing to action and beginning to debark. Through the smoking hole, what appears to be their barracks is visible, several Rebels scattering from the hole, as well as a couple who were apparently caught in the blast.

[[Viktor is Blue]]

Lower Stratosphere - Weytin's Colony

As the two squadrons race toward each other, the Bombers break off and beeline for the base, unleashing a salvo of torpedoes at the turbolaser battery on the roof. [[Torpedoes will hit next round]] As the Z95s come to meet you, one peels off and begins to chase the Bombers while the other three move to engage the six Interceptors. Gyan does an easy roll and lines up a shot on the lead Z95 and unloads into its forward shields, dropping them with a shimmer as the ships pass, the other two being pounced upon by the other five Interceptors, one of them being torn apart and exploding apart within seconds. The lone Z95 that chased the Bombers fires off two shots, both of them splattering on Krayt 11's starboard solar panels, causing them to splinter, the Bomber maintaining control but rapidly losing altitude.

Master Vulture - Weytin's Colony

As the gravtruck and the Rebel operators come up the ramp and look around, waiting for some direction on where to unload. Spotting Anders coming out of the cargo hold, the woman steps forward as the ramp closes behind her, "We'll need all these cargo bays cleared out, where's your navicomp? We need to get it started calculating a route to the rendezvous... might take awhile with this old beater..."

Quickly he jumps out of the Comm station, jamming the lock to the cockpit door before threading his way through the ship to the Dorsal Turrent. Jumping into the gunner's chair, he lines up the sights of the Master Vulture's guns on the transport as he pulls on the headset tying him into the ship's internal communications. On one hand, his teams would be assaulting right into the middle of troops still in no way ready for combat. On the other... "I hate assaulting doorways. Pilot, I want another hole in the far side of this barracks.

Alpha leader, you are to begin storming procedures as soon as the shuttle has fired. Attempt to secure as far forward as possible before they organize, then find cover and provide suppressing fire for Bravo's advance. I'm leaving whether to shoot to kill or stun at your discretion.

Bravo, you are to advance under cover of their fire and secure at least the outside of the doorway, though exact location will be left to situational discretion.

Charlie you are acting as ready reserve, as well as my operational command. I will be with you momentarily, but begin disembarkation."

Any plans to redirect Charlie to the transport were aborted as he began to hear starcraft grade blaster fire from that direction. Standing up and pulling on his own helmet, he headed for the back of the shuttle and the ramp.

Viktor heard the explosion to the North and, from the sound of blaster fire, assumed that was where the Imperial troops were making a breach. Knowing they'd likely be ordered to shoot on sight, he believed his best chance would likely be to get as far away from the Northern portion of the ship as was possible.

If he could get to a command area, he might be able to shut off the defense batteries harassing Imperial pilots and cause a bit of havoc in their systems. If nothing else, he'd have a better chance of getting captured and, if he was lucky, get a chance to put a blaster bolt in the face of that Rebel bastard from earlier.

Before then though, it'd be good to prepare. He followed the chain of troopers up to what he assumed was the armory, hoping that he could snag a bandolier of grenades or something similar before walking into a room full of what he assumed would be armed guards.

Rebel Base - Weytin's Colony

Scarlet beams of light lance out from the shuttle's forward laser cannons, boring straight through the far wall of the barracks room, the heat of the blasts lighting most of the cots on fire and the concussive force of the wall exploding as the air bubbles trapped inside the duracrete superheated and rocketed outwards sending Viktor reeling to the ground, just shy of himself being vaporized like so many of the Rebels just had. White lines temporarily seared across his retinas, he lays in a daze on the ground, trying to catch his bearings.

[[Viktor manages to not get fried but takes 10 Strain damage from almost being vaporized by a ship-based laser cannon.]]

Lower Stratosphere - Weytin's Colony

While Gyan's shots fail to land on the last Z95, they do manage to make the pilot flinch, throwing off his aim and preventing him from lining up a killshot on the smoking TIE Bomber, the shots flying wide and peppering the ground harmlessly. He pulls hard to starboard and makes a tight turn, twisting around in a maneuver your ship probably couldn't match in atmosphere with its large, flat, wings panels, and starts heading straight at Gyan's TIE. The Z95 whose shields Gyan dropped, meanwhile, rolls onto its tail and starts rocketing straight upward, clearly aiming for space. The comm crackles:

"Krayt Leader, Krayt Five. That Z is running, should we let him go?"

Just as his question finishes, there's a bright flash of light from the ground with a slightly delayed "THOOM" as the salvo of proton torpedoes obliterate the turbolaser battery on the roof of the base, raining burning wreckage down on the Rebels scattering below. Between that and the shuttle's handiwork on the inside walls, something was tripped and the lights in the base flicker and wink out, though the daylight will probably keep the place mostly illuminated, since the building is now full of holes. Where the turbolaser battery was there is now a smoking hole with piles of rubble below, several bodies in orange flightsuits buried under the chunks of duracrete.

[[The last Z-95 has decided to play chicken with you, and will fire next round. The NW corner of the base building's ceiling is now blasted open with all the ceiling and the turbolaser battery caved in on whatever was below.]]

Master Vulture - Weytin's Colony

As the CEC ship's laser turret opens up on the engine of the transport, causing sparks and plumes of smoke to vent out of its side, the inside of the ship turns into a similarly brilliant light show. As two full squads of stormtroopers bring their weapons to bare and bathe the entire common room in the blue glow of stun bolts, both Anders and Kraye easily take down their respective targets, the Rebel workers collapsing almost instantly under the rain of blue stun bolts.

The female lieutenant on the other hand, has an almost incredulous look on her face and is about to reply to Telsh's command when two stun bolts drills straight into her back, between the shoulders, pitching her forward right into Telsh's arms, her eyes already rolling back as she passes out and slumps limp against him. Six stormtroopers quickly secure the captives while the others instinctively move for the loading ramp, awaiting further orders as more shots are heard from up above as Korne continues to blast away at the transport's engines.

[[Ambush successful, Korne has done 6 damage to the Transport's engines, leaving them with only 4 HP left.]]

Rebel Base - Weytin's Colony

Another salvo of laser fire flies as the Rebel transport is summarily disabled, thick black smoke roiling out of the charred skeleton of the hull where the engines used to be. So effective were the shots that the entire frame of the ship seems to buckle slightly... Korne might have done a little too good a job...

Meanwhile, the many stormtroopers under Tonish's command make short work of the scattered and confused Rebels scrambling away from the large blast hole rent in the side of the base. Viktor manages a few dazed blinks on the floor as one of the many faceless stormtroopers stands over him and unloads two stun blasts into his chest, knocking him unconscious. As the troopers near the far hole in the building, they begin taking scattered blaster fire through the smoke, 3 troopers going down as the others begin flipping over bunks and tables, trying to make some cover from which to fire back into the smokey interior. Tonish himself makes it to the edge of the building (the outside hole) before everyone starts taking fire.

[[Viktor is out of the fight since Arbitrary didn't post. The Z95 explodes in a brilliant flash as Gyan's TIE twists expertly through the very explosion itself with minimal damage, the forked panels of the Interceptor leaving sharp flame trails across the sky as he brings his TIE around in time to see the rest of his Interceptor squadron bounce on the fleeing Z95 like a pack of wild animals, 4 different sets of green lasers stabbing through the ship as it practically vaporizes in a plume of smoke. Krayt 9's aim was off and his shots went wide.

The airspace over the base is clear.

Master Vulture - Weytin's Colony

Kraye debarks with his squad of stormtroopers, catching most of the Rebels on the tarmac off guard as the majority of them seem to be either fleeing away from the smoking transport, toward the smoking transport, away from the giant hole in the roof of the base where the turbolaser battery was, or toward the base with weapons drawn, presumably to help with the defense against the many stormtroopers storming the base from the north. Most of them are too distracted to have noticed that the Master Vulture fired the shots against the Transport, however a small handful caught on and begin rushing toward the CEC, only to stop short at the sight of the bright white plasteel armor and begin to turn back, only to be cut down with expert precision as Kraye and his men take up firing positions on the south side of the Transport landing pads, using the many cargo crates as cover.

From Telsh's vantage point, he can see the battle unfolding, the Vulture's targeting computer popping up a small wireframe schematic of the transport, indicated that its structural integrity has been compromised and its main reactor is now damaged.

The first room on the right is the mess, not only stacked with ration crates but also a few ordnance canisters and at least one database terminal, laying on its side in a corner. The first room on the left reveals several rows of bunks, most with equipment piled on them and a stack of unmarked crates in the narrow aisle between the two rows of bunks.

Moving forward, the second room on the right is another bunkroom, similarly filled with equipment. There's a slight scuttle of noise inside as Kraye keys the door, but nothing in sight, at a glance. [[can do some sort of scouting roll to take a better look]] Before he can move to the second door on the right, one of the doors further down the hall opens up and he hears a surprised shout of "Oh no, Imperials are on the ship!" followed by the clatter of at least two pairs of boots, though it's hard to tell more than that as there's stuff exploding aboard the ship toward aft, and outside there's a firefight raging.

Master Vulture - Weytin's Colony Tarmac

"Yes, sir!"

The Stormtrooper commander waves his men forward in Korne's wake, the squad descending the Vulture's boarding ramp and taking position on the tarmac as Kraye's squad boards the Action transport's ramp, helping the clone secure the ship. Korne's unit immediately begins returning fire at the scattered shots emanating from the ruined building, the stormtroopers taking minimal casualties as they expertly advance in pairs using covering fire.

Action IV Transport - Weytin's Colony

"It's the kriffin' ISB! What do we do?!"

"Shutup and start shooting!"

"Freeze, Rebel scum! You're all under arrest!"

The corridor fills with blaster fire and the screams of people falling on both sides. To leave the room would be a pretty terrible idea right now. Kraye hears a rustling behind him.

[[Roll initiative, assume someone is behind you readying an attack.]]

Base Interior - Weytin's Colony

Tonish manages to slip behind an overturned bunk without drawing any fire from the shrouded Rebels as another of his men goes down with a smoldering hole in his plasteel armor. His grenade arcs high over the fray, clattering in the smoke.

"Hit the dec- AAGH!"

The grenade explodes with a loud pop, taking several Rebels out as the concussive force of the blast clears much of the smoke aside, exposing the handful of Rebels firing at the stormtroopers. Bravo immediately rushes forward, the troopers expertly gunning down the handful of Rebels still putting up resistance, securing the main foyer as Charlie brings up the rear and covers the angles.

"All clear!"

Tibby Korne - Rebel Base, Weyton Colony

Wound: 12/12 Strain: 12/12 Soak: 4

As the last of the Stormtrooper Squad enters the base, Korne, still clutching his kit and his blaster pistol, but looking more and more like a nervous nelly as the battle rages around him, enters the base with his hand on the last Stormtrooper's shoulder. Following his every step. Stopping when he stops, and going when he goes.

As they enter the base, Korne manages to pick himself up enough to whisper over the commlink, "Commander, we need to move towards central command and the base's computers on the double. If you are able, please keep any higher ranking officers alive, but please kill all the rest. They are not needed."

I'm just going to make poo poo up now. Change it if you care (:10bux: says you don't)

Black Stormtrooper Squadron (formerly Anderson's Gay Brigade) is currently at the following:

8 Imperial Stormtroopers (10 started, 2 lost)
Current Wound: 49/50

Advance in the following manner:

Agent Telsh

Strain 10/13
Cargo Area, Master Vulture, Weytin's Colony Orbit

Telsh surveys the assorted rebel prisoners captured in the opening moments of the raid, before Korne went dashing off to save the day. They're a sad lot, heads hung, binders on arms and legs, sitting propped up against a bulkhead. He looks around, four prisoners, and four vertical support columns in the bay...'hmm' he thinks to himself.

Making sure not to give them an opening, he works slowly but surely. Telsh stands each prisoner up, wraps their arms around the support poles and has them cross their legs around the pole. He turns around and says, "Pretty soon your legs are going to get weak, and when they get weak you're going to slide down the pole, and for a while, sure, you'll stop yourself...but eventually you'll fall down, and the pressure will cause your ankles to want to occupy the same space, simultaneously, causing them to break, painfully."

He reaches into his jacket and pulls out a small notepad, and speaks as he scribbles. "I have here, one 'get out of jail free card', give me valuable information and leave this transport, a free man." Telsh pauses, "If you're worried that your friends here will think you're a rat, don't worry, because the other three pages are execution orders." Telsh pulls four pages from the notebook. "So, what'll it be?"
