How long have you been on the SSRI? For some people their sex drive starts to bounce back after a few weeks, some months, and others... well, never, I'm afraid. For other people a different SSRI might be tolerated better as far as side effects go--I personally ran the gamut and settled on Lexapro before things seemed to be normal. Ish. Still not great. (Rather have that than the black mire of depression, though.) Far as drugs to stymie the loss of libido go, I think Wellbutrin is the only thing that's thought to have a chance. Some doctors try Viagra etc. for men but in my experience that just gives you a boner with nowhere to go and makes peeing inconvenient (which is odd, since boning up should require arousal last I checked, but hey yo)

Another reason I wish I could try weed without getting really loving fired. Stupid federal contractor jobs.

It's pretty awesome when you're on the receiving end as well. Rare and random, but sufficiently common that I can't even chance a weekend trip to Denver or anything.

That said there's no harm in shaving it either, assuming you're being careful and not e.g. using a "safety" razor on your donger

KillHour posted:I seriously think they should have one of the listed side effects of Welbutrin say "May turn you into a sex god." I wish it worked on me. Dead orgasmic ability and often even deader libido all in the name of not being suicidal. I mean it's worth it, but dang

SSRI and SNRI sexual side effects might as well be bullshit wizard magic for all anyone knows about why and when they happen and when they go away. Could last forever, even after you've stopped taking the drug; could have no effect at all; for a hilariously lucky few and for a vanishingly small number of medications they could improve libido. There's just no telling. Sorry, Hello Obturator.hoobajoo posted:Antidepressants absolutely help a ton of people with mood disorders. Even when I was on Paxil and couldn't cum half the time, it was still better than wanting to kill myself. I eventually transitioned onto Wellbutrin, which has minimal side effects for me, so even if Effexor is wrecking your Mom's poo poo, she can transition to another antidepressant and see if there's one that can do its job without being a huge pain in the rear end. And the effectiveness and side effects of a drug vary a lot from person to person; psychiatry is a much less exact science than most other kinds of medicine, since the brain is still very mysterious to us, so often you have to use some trial and error to find the meds that will work best for you. Weed is something I've always wanted to try (not just WRT sex/fapping but in general) but it is like the single way I would lose my job if noticed and they are very hot to trot on that particular vice. Stupid federal rules.
