If the forecast is accurate though, perhaps storms, quote:Melbourne area Keep in mind that practice is at 5PM here so "Isolated thunderstorms this afternoon and evening" lines up perfectly. Tomorrow is about 10C cooler and showers during the afternoon.

Sure - it doesn't detract from racing but it's a very very different experience from previous years. The roar/squeal of the engine is something associated with Formula 1 during the modern era and that is largely gone now. It is part of 'the product' that is gone now.

It is jarring how different it is but most of the "its no problem" brigade are judging from TV and that's a very, very different experience. Not saying it's a _wrong_ opinion to support the quieter cars, it'll just be interesting to contrast opinions when more people have heard in person.
