Going to be a great season, although it does look like Merc is a lot faster than anyone else. It should be a great battle between Williams, McLaren and Redbull for the 2-4th best teams. Early days of course, and Redbull haven't had much time in their car etc.

Mercedes have only shown even remotely close to their true pace with those last few laps that Lewis Hamilton did at Malaysia, and even they probably weren't as fast as they could go if they went all out. Wouldn't be that shocked if they are 1.5 seconds or maybe 2 seconds faster than anyone else if they really needed to.

Honestly the more I see about Formula E the more I want to watch it, it does seem to have promise, which ever way it turns out; Either it will be a complete mess, or proper racing its going to be interesting to watch. Also thanks to the comments on that video I know ITV4 are going to be showing it so wont have to watch a stream.

There was wide spread allegations Webber was being sabotaged, and it was pretty god drat evident they didn't want him to be in front of their chosen poo poo, especially with the blatant team orders. Where it differs with the Webber/Vettel Situation is the Lewis is the better driver than Rosberg, while Webber was arguably the worst driver in modern times in a top F1 car. Even Heikki is probably better than Webber. Thank god the Aussies finally have a driver deserving of their good history of Australian motor racing instead of that disgrace.

Looking forward to when we have a debate about why we are still bothering with the F1 races in the Formula E Best Thread I found it good, despite all that. They could have got a director straight out of film school who would have done a better job than the farce today. I was expecting this series to be a joke, but it was really fun and shocking how close the cars were able to get next to each other, nose to tail, especially given they were often doing it at 170mph. Really looking forward to the next F-E race, probably even more so than the next F1 race.

A full roll cage is the only thing that would prevent a driver death in the event of a crash like that. Pic of the impact https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BzK_IJzCYAAOUoU.jpg Shows the back of the car was split in 2 with the left side shoved around to the right hand side. Even without the issue he went head height into the back of the tractor, he would of been severely injured just from the impact given its side on and the cars aren't designed to offer much protection in that kind of impact. ukle fucked around with this message at 10:32 on Oct 5, 2014 |

Reports on Twitter, saying Mika Salo who was a Marshall today was interviewed and said that Bianchi did go under the tractor and suffered severe head injuries. Could be incorrect as its via twitter, but the evidence does point that he did go under the tractor.
