Upgraded to the latest Fedora. GNOME 42 works great and looks even nicer than the previous version. I know it's fashionable to poo poo on GNOME ever since 3.0 came out but I like it a lot. Blows my mind that something this pretty and functional is just given away for free.

the original developers of unix ran out of space on their 20(?) MB system disk and new programs had to start spilling over into the user home directory disk and it is very important that nothing ever change for any reason ever we need a separate / filesystem containing a "rescue" environment that is so crippled as to be useless. initrds and live boot disks don't count, if those things didn't exist in the 70s then they are heresy
