is it upgradable? can someone buy a lower model and over time save up for better hardware? i mean, i guess they can buy an external hard drive, but any way to upgrade ram or whatever?

other way around. one uid, two users.

id gives you your uid and you can use that to search ldap for all accounts with that uid and from there you complain to the person who messed that up.
