People need to stop getting hung up on Michael Bay and start talking about this is being directed by the dude who helmed goddamn The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Wrath of the Titans, and Battle: LA. Because, honestly, that to me is most indicative to me of what we'll be getting in terms of quality.

Does anyone have the picture where the noses were shopped out and it made them all look 10x better?

I've been a TMNT fan since I was old enough to pick out my own toys and I am looking forward to this take on the Turtles. It's a mild departure from the source material, sure. But it's close enough and I for one don't want a rehash of the old stuff, I want new stuff. My only gripe is that its CG turtles. The costumes of the first and second movies still hold up great even by today's standards, I wish they had just dug those out of storage and kept CG for the scenes too difficult to film with a suit. Linking Michaelangelo's face doesn't mean much, since looking like a mutant freak is the punchline in that scene. The turtles have the fake shimmery Avatar eyes that nearly every CG character in a big budget movie has, but otherwise they look pretty cool as enormous mutant superheroes. The mix of seriousness and self-aware humor reminds me of the first TMNT movie. I've always found the controversy surrounding the production of this film baffling, especially the changes to their origin story. There were at least three different backstories for the turtles during their heyday.

Whatever, I'm hype for this. My little girl (4) and me (30) watched this trailer and both lost it at the "It's just a mask" line. She likes TMNT already, and doesn't have childhood nostalgia to ruin. Sounds like a win to me. The Turtles look awesome, except for the nose. I didn't realize how horrible the noses were until someone shopped them out.

I just watched the trailer again and realized that one scene takes place on a snowy mountain. So they'll be traveling out of New York to a mountain?

Eh, I'll go in with low expectations. Honestly speaking the only thing that's got me interested at this point is how well a Shredder Fitchner can pull off.

I have a hard time picturing Fitchner saying the line: tonight, we dine on turtle soup!

Speaking of the franchise, did anything come out of that 2007 CGI film? I honestly kinda liked that movie and the way Karai warned the turtles about familiar faces really made it look like they were setting up a sequel(s). I just want to see more turtle action

I just want to see more turtle action There was some talk of a sequel in the weeks leading up to its release (Kevin Munroe said he wanted to use the Shredder), but it was ultimately only kind of a middling financial success -- and then like a year and a half later, Nickelodeon bought the franchise outright and started working on its own TV show and movie, which killed any possibility of following up on TMNT.

I think my biggest concern about the movie is that it will be like the Tranformers movies where it's about the human characters reacting to the presence of the Turtles instead of the Turtles being the main characters themselves.

Yeah man we need a true thespian to portray the nuanced subtle characteristics of fictional tv reporter, and mutant turtle enthusiast April O Neal. I really don't know who could play April better. She is a hot girl which is I am sure what the casting call said.
