The first paragraph after the abstract is a summary of problems that the Bitcoin protocol attempts to fix. If we take Bitcoin as an experiment, these are claims that can be falsified, and so the Bitcoin "experiment" can provide knowledge, despite being utterly worthless as a currency. Can you please clarify how btc is "utterly worthless" as a currency if you can trade it for goods and services?
