Locales: The Coliseum

In a lost corner of the Void Beyond, there is a place where mighty souls gather. It is a testing ground for powerful warriors from every age and every reality, who come to pit their fighting skills against one another. On the Day of Reckoning, it is said these combatants will join the battle to end all battles.

Only one law governs the Coliseum — the weak serve the strong. The one that stands triumphant in this arena commands unswerving loyalty from the rest.

Well, anyway, we patched the problem by borrowing space on the Moogleworks system, which is why some of you have been greeted by the squeaky 'Welcome, kupo!'...Say, wouldn't it be wild if that shop was run by a real live moogle?

Extraordinary Egg

I still find it difficult to believe. Today, we uncovered a recording of Snow in the machine. There was nothing unusual about the image itself. We expected that Snow might be traveling the timeline. What shocked me was the brand. He bore the mark of a Gran Pulse l'Cie.

Since the catastrophe, the Pulse fal'Cie have had nothing to do with human affairs. They have shown no interest in attacking Cocoon, and they have no reason to make anybody a l'Cie. Which leaves only one possibility—Snow himself asked for the brand.

What is happening to Snow, in that distant future? What terrible need drove him to take the l'Cie brand?

They're eating them, that's why you never see them eat or get hungry. Every really long loading screen is them having to stop and chow down on the flan buildup in their pockets.

How does a dragon eating flans and pooping them into another time period cause those flans to form a giant flan monster anyway? Wouldn't that flan monster form on the Steppe anyway then, since if the dragon ate that many then that many existed in the first place for it to eat?

No, no. You see, the Black Hole/White Hole portal transports the flans across time AND space, thus they appear in the Sunleth Waterscape where they have no natural predators, allowing them all to survive long enough to converge because that is their natural instinct, and then the giant flan licks the giant crystal candy cane pillar because that is its natural instinct.

Goblin Fragment

The goblins that inhabit the Archylte Steppe of Pulse are highly intelligent carnivores who lay traps for their prey and hunt in packs. For this reason, they are a direct threat to the hunters who also live off the plains.

Climate change can cause a decline in prey and force the goblins to wander closer to human settlements in search of food. They love a good fight and like to pounce on unwary humans. We recommend staying in large groups when traversing goblin-infested lands.

quote:

Woolly Stone

We're the sheep of Gran Pulse
and our wool is the best,
We grow it this thick
so it keeps off the pests.
But the men chase us down
with scissors and shears,
And cut it all off
before it covers our ears.

Our Rough Wool is strong
and makes saddles and carpets,
Our Thick Wool makes hats
and booties and blankets.
But it's our fine Fluffy Wool
that holds them in thrall,
When plucked at the roots,
It's the best wool of all.

Its hard to be a sheep
out here on the plain,
Avoiding the hunters
is such a terrible strain.
Oh, I wish that just once
I could munch on some grass,
Without a man coming to pull
a tuft from my... side.

Good question. Well, we see that Adam recognizes Serah was at one point a l'Cie herself when her and Noel emerge from the gate. It spots the remnant of her brand on her arm and goes into panic mode. And, as we've seen with Fang and Vanille, there is a precedent for people being re-l'Cie-ed even if they've already completed a Focus or while they were already the l'Cie to another fal'Cie.

When Anima turns the party over to Pulse to be branded at the start of OG XIII, Vanille (who's already a l'Cie at that point), gets re-branded and her original Focus overwritten.

Though the real reason Adam didn't just up and Cie'th Serah and Noel is of course, as always, the Almighty Plot, that's why :colbert:
