I'm not sure what his actual physical ages are supposed to be, but it is effectively the same sort of plot in my mind.

I may or may not have asked this before in this thread, but does anyone have any good reference images for any of the laboratories from Go Nagai's robot stuff? I'd particularly like to see some stuff of this place, the image in the article is about the best one I've seen http://mazinger.wikia.com/wiki/Science_Fortress_Laboratory but I know in the animation the colors are different for example. Also anything like that from Godannar would be rad, or any other cool shows. Feel free to use this as a springboard for mecha base chat.

Taken as a series A-ko would actually have more content for SRW than Iczer, probably. Start off with B-ko as a villain throwing robots at you, then the aliens and military machines get involved, the giant A-ko robot, even go nuts and have the sand monsters and submarines from the VS movies. Totally would rule.

Minmay always sorta annoys me (or maybe it's more that Hikaru does for still trying with her) because she's either dense as gently caress or stringing him along hardcore. Oh yeah we had a mock wedding and went on dates and I wrote a song about my pilot boyfriend but you thought we were a couple?? gently caress that, Misa superiority. Kaifun makes her worse since he's one of those characters that just exists to challenge the status quo of the show and those get really obnoxious when you are, you know, enjoying the show. Of course I'm gonna hate the guy who comes in talking poo poo about the military when I've watched a few dozen eps of the military dudes being awesome. DYRL was a better take than the TV version probably. And yeah taking her actions as a dumb 16 year old does help them feel realistic but it's still basically a vehicle for the main hero guy to get poo poo on so it grates sometimes.

It would also be fun if they could somehow do something like Go Lion and Voltron or Macross and Robotech (ahhahahha never ever ever) with the multiple worlds stuff.

I like to imagine there are heated nerd fights about how THIS IS A TOUGH ENEMY, IT'S MADE OF SUPER ALLOY Z BUT TIMES 1000 I DESIGNED IT OK IT IS TOUGH or just generally spergin out about how such and such character is so badass that of course it would take 50 gundams to beat him and so on. Or maybe "well it's the last stage so...." or the guy who minmaxes everything perfect because he's on the test team saying things are too easy.

I find the gundam wing popularity in the US hilarious because it's prettyboys: the gundam and that went completely over the heads of every 14 year old boy that was super into it at the time. poo poo I watched a LOT of toonami back then and did not give much of a poo poo about wing. Ronin Warriors was MY prettyboys action show thank you.
