Early stage spoilers stuff. How could Z1 and Z2 worlds merge? That seems suspect. What happens to duplicate characters? Doesn't that kind of negate the parts in the previous two games about fixing the governments of the merged worlds. What was the point of anything except the original plots at that point if nothing the protagonists did actually stuck.

I wonder what Eva Unit 1's best move will be in this game? It wont't have the dance combo attack with Asuka. If they really want to be crazy they could do something similar to Eureka 7 at the end of Z1 and have it do that thing it does at the end of movie 2 but be controllable for the final stage or two.

If you compare the Delta to the Hyaku Shiki side-by-side they're basically identical except the Delta is a little fancier and doesn't have the anti-beam bling paint.

What reason does the game give for all the SEED characters being somewhere else? Also Shin and Kamille are best bros after Z1.

I just wish they'd done a little more work touching it up for HD. I'm at stage 21 and so far it is the only robot that I've seen and thought that it was straight up taken from the PSP games.

Well they got rid of half the series from Z2 that had combo attacks and at least up to stage 41 nobody except the Gurren Lagann kids can use theirs anymore. I'm pretty sure the Full Metal Panic crew has one but I never used it and I dropped all the non Sosuke characters pretty fast.

Speaking of Macross I'm really glad we're getting a new series so maybe they can not have Frontier in every game they make. I like it but it is starting to get a little old. I wonder if licensing Build Fighters lets them cheat and sneak in all the Gundam suits and characters for the price of one show. All the characters cameo at some point and pretty much every main mobile suit does too.

Yeah even though it sounds like they're being weird about it I'm going to assume they are talking about a fourth sphere. If they wanted to get the rest of them in to the story this game it couldn't have been too hard just to design a new character who already collected them all. Banpresto seems like they care about having a pretty consistent narrative across games in a series.

The tile work is pretty good but I think some of the battle backgrounds are horrible. The one that shows up when you are next to water in a city is embarrassing. It is a flat gray surface with lovely looking "water" behind it.

I don't know any Japanese but every scene that includes Macross 7 makes me laugh. Every character has the best reaction face when they play especially Ozma. It is so obvious that he is the biggest fan boy.
