Nox is pretty goddamn great but most of its fun was in the multiplayer.
Well, that and bombers. For anyone not in the know, it's this little chicken-looking thing that runs in on enemies and detonates - into a combination of three spells of your choosing. Now, Nox's spell arsenal includes stuff like giant stone fists flattening your enemies, which makes them probably the best summonable minion ever.

The demo for Nox only let you play a hippie with a limited spell list in multiplayer deathmatches.

Sold.

That whole pond segment is something that appears in a lot of Eastern folklore for some reason. It popped up in Silent Hill 3 too with the whole "is THIS what you dropped in here" kind of thing. I'm not sure where it actually comes from though but it's in a lot of stuff over there.

It's just an old folk tale about honesty. A guy loses a thing, someone else is willing to retrieve it, the guy has a chance to lie about what he lost in hopes of getting a better thing, or tell the truth and get his regular thing back. Being honest is usually then rewarded by handing over the better thing anyway.

Is there a reason you haven't been introducing any of the other commentators? I still don't know the name of the guy who has been with you the whole time.

I can't give them a credited role unless they join the Let's PlActor's Guild.

Would rather not deal with the paperwork.

As such, I'm fishing for a name and colour scheme for our hippie. (And eventually our Nerd)

I don't know if the game is louder or Loon is quieter, but it's pretty hard to hear him, especially during combat.

By the way, does anyone know of more recent games in the style of Nox that are worth playing? It seems like a cool game, but a bit dated (like with the cumbersome selling).

Audio balance is a most ferocious and devious foe. Be ever vigilant.

Flexgar will be followed by further Nox adventures in the days to come.

Until then, the spirit of the thread has finally led me to start declassifying an old stream recording of mine. Relics of a forgotten time when XSplit and UStream were considered decent software.
